Great Mountain House

This is the second time we have stayed in this property. The home is fantastic and Smoky Mountain Retreat could not be a better host.

We were visiting for prime fall colors, and if it had not been raining, could have happily spent all week just enjoying the views from the deck. The neighborhood is lovely and well maintained and while the roads are steep and winding, they are paved and were no issue navigating in our minivan. I would highly recommend this house!

A piece of heaven!

This cabin was a dream, we enjoyed every minute there! Easy check in process, cabin was clean and so cozy. Plenty of room for 4 adults and 4 kids. The master bedroom was so comfortable and spacious. We loved playing ring toss and shuffle board and enjoying the amazing views from the deck. It was so peaceful sitting outside, even though there are cabins nearby it was so quiet. Convenient location. We loved everything about it and hope to return soon!

Weekend stay with friends

We had a great time staying. I didn’t realize we had to check in at the rental company first, but once we got that sorted out, everything went smoothly. The house is great. And the views are spectacular. We had 7 adults and there was enough room for everyone. We played shuffleboard and football, which are a fun addition to the house

Great Location

I highly recommend this property. I have been using VRBO for the last 6 years and they represented the property perfectly. The views were lovely, the privacy was outstanding, and the details were wonderful. One thing - make sure you know to stop by the office to get access to the cabin. We were not aware but once we got our packet everything was easy!

Perfect house and location for a family vacation!

The check in process was great - quick, simple and the communication with the property management was excellent! The neighborhood is great for walks and had a playground that our toddler loved. Close to grocery stores and restaurants but still far away to enjoy a serene mountain view from the house deck. House was spotless and had everything that was listed in the listing - playroom, 4 bedroom, and access to garage from bottom floor. We will definitely come back to this location next year.

Well equipped with amazing views

A few things that stood out to me: -The kitchen was very well equipped. There were plenty of pots and pans, cutting boards, spices, etc. There was a single serving coffee maker in addition to a pot. Everything we needed was there! - The hot tube (with amazing views) was exceptionally clean. I was super impressed. -The living room/kitchen/dining room was all open and very conducive to a big group hanging out. - I would absolutely stay here again!

Great time in the Mountains

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This year we were celebrating a 50 year wedding anniversary. The house was filled with family and dogs. The space was perfect. It provided the right mix of privacy and social areas, the balcony was perfectly situated with views of a valley and the surrounding mountains. We had visits from many birds, squirrels and even a momma bear with cubs. Being in a community we felt safe incase of an emergency but also enjoyed the feeling of being alone - nights were quiet except for the occasional owl. The drive up to the cabin was fine, there were a few switch backs that were expected and the drive up the driveway was moderately steep on a gravel surface - we had no issues and got used to it very quickly. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this to anyone.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful weekend at Sunset Ridge Lodge. The cabin was just as pictured, roomy and clean, we had no complaints. Each of our 3 children (teens and up) had their own room with comfy beds and plenty of space. We loved the master suite which had a very comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom. We enjoyed playing the shuffleboard which led to heated competitions! We especially enjoyed the hot tub which had plenty of room for the 5 of us. It snowed while we were there and the rental company plowed the driveway for us, which was much appreciated. They were very friendly and easy to work with, and even allowed us to leave later due to the weather conditions. We would be happy to stay here again!
