Coast Visit

Everything was great except the shower in the bedroom with the TV was slow to drain and it was very slippery while taking a shower. Other than that, it is a very nice place to stay.

Not wheelchair accessible

We enjoyed our stay but I want people to know the property is not really wheelchair accessible. There is a gravel driveway, a lip on the front porch,and you scrape going in both bedrooms and bathrooms. This would be a great place otherwise. I think until you are a wheelchair user you have a hard time understanding what wheelchair accessible means. I don’t think the property management company meant to mislead.

Cozy & Quiet retreat

The house was amazing. New and very clean. Tucked back in the trees and quiet. I would definitely recommend. The only downside was it was advertised to have a fire pit, but was out of propane so we couldn’t use it. Also the primary bathroom drain was partially plugged and drained slowly. Other than that we were very happy with the hose.

Cute perfect cottage

We stayed here with another couple for a wedding weekend. Perfect little cute cottage for two nights in really quiet neighborhood close to everything. about a 10 minute drive to most beaches or Arcada. Beds are softer mattresses just an FYI for sleeping but everything was clean and in good shape. Would stay again

So quiet and comfortable

We were pleased with this VRBO in McKinleyville CA. Very quiet. Cool to watch the fog roll in during the evening. Close enough to a grocery store and a quick 3/4 mile back to 101 to finish our tour of the Redwoods.

Great place if you want privacy.

Overall, the stay was great! Only two small issues: one two of the dinette stools have braces at the bottom that are coming apart and should be repaired and two, someone’s dog (very friendly) kept showing up on the front porch and wanting in to mess with our puppy. Called the owner and they said she would find her way home; which really wasn’t the point. Wouldn’t want to make it sound that these were anything major. Overall, it was a great place to stay!!!!

Graduation

Great four day weekend for Cal Poly Humboldt Graduation stay. Place was clean and even had spices and laundry detergent available! That was a huge plus even though we didn’t use it. Many places don’t include this. Only downside was that the description said TV had Netflix, they didn’t. Enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this cute two bedroom cottage! Thank you for your hospitality and answering my questions so quickly. I do have a pic by the property where we were able to catch the aurora borealis over this beautiful weekend if you’d like it

Beautiful, quiet getaway near the redwoods!

This property was beautifully kept, squeaky clean and well decorated! Lots of privacy and near the avenue of the redwoods, golf courses and close enough to town for anything you might need. The kitchen is well equipped, they have thought of everything! We will definitely stay here again!

Great location for Redwoods

This is a cute cottage in a great location that allowed us to explore the redwoods to the north and the redwoods to the south. That location was in a nice neighborhood & had a nice patio and was just a cute cottage. The one thing that can be improved is that it says six people can sleep there, yet it only had seating & towels for 4. Like many other VRBO‘s that list six people, This place only had a kitchen table for four and no extra chairs to pull up. There were also only four towels. The extra two “beds/couches” would be appropriate for children sized people. So if you would expect to fit six adults or teenagers, someone’s going to get a bad sleeping experience by sleeping on the futon couch in the living room because it is short and uncomfortable. We also had to request extra bedding again once we got there. This would a great cottage for 4. We still enjoy the location and our stay and it was so much better then a hotel in the near by towns, but it would have been better for our family of 5 to have an extra real bed, more towels and a place for all of us to eat dinner together without someone standing.

If you want a clean, comfy, cozy & quiet home away from home then this is your place! I relocated and had no time to find a place to live so I opted for this little gem to be my home for a month. It is stocked with all of the necessities to cook, and also has a cute little lighted patio with a grill. The host, Jessica, was awesome and if I had any concerns/questions she replied right away. Nestled in the trees, but a stones throw from town center, it was my slice of heaven. I highly recommend!!!

Home base for Redwoods

This was a very comfortable rental. It is a newer home with what seemed to be newer furniture. The furnishings are quite minimal, and I love that because it means there is no clutter. The owners provided soap, shampoo and conditioner, and the kitchen was stocked well enough to be able to cook basic meals, though we were out all the time exploring. It was clean enough, though there was some dog hair, but not a big deal. There is a broom available for people who are very picky about their floors. Jessica was very easy to communicate with and she even came to check on us when we were getting ready to leave because a storm was coming in and she wanted to make sure the roads were open. That was very sweet. The location is perfect for exploring the Redwoods. From this home, you can easily access the Avenue of the Giants to the south (which I highly recommend) and Prairie Creek State Park, also highly recommended. The beaches along the way (north of McKinleyville) are exceptionally beautiful. Moonstone Beach was our favorite! Also, go check out Trinidad. Seascape restaurant has great breakfast and lunch. The home is very cozy, and in a very quiet and peaceful setting. For anyone debating about whether to rent in McKinleyville versus Eureka, hands-down, you should go with McKinleyville. It is safe, clean, and quiet. I am from a big city, and I thought Eureka was a dump. So glad we picked this home versus any of the beautiful Victorian homes in Eureka where I would unfortunately not have felt safe at all. Such a shame! We can’t wait to return to this home. Nice little house

We stayed here . Very minimalist design. New beds couches etc. Place could use some more furniture. But overall very good for the price. Nice neighborhood close enough to Mckinleyville beaches etc. Would stay there again
