The check-in process was slow, with only one member of staff responsible for guests at the busiest time (4pm - 5:30). He was also trying to manage the incoming phone calls, all of which were parked but I didn't see him get back to anyone while he dealt with the three or four groups ahead of us and then the two or three after us.
The room we had was well appointed, having a fridge, microwave and single serve coffee maker - all of which we didn't use.
The bathroom was very spacious and equipped with a walk-in shower. The toilet was fitted with a slow-close seat. However, being an accessible room, it would have been better with a raised seat for those with disabilities.
All towels and the shower curtain were clean, very white and soft. Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are provided.
The king size bed was very comfortable and the linen crisp. Space was very good in the room and about four times larger than a previous stay we had at another Medicine Hat hotel a couple of years ago.
Traffic noise is very evident at this hotel from the very nearby Trans Canada Highway only meters from the bak of the hotel.
During our one night stay the hotel parking lot was not at all busy and I suspect perhaps 60% of the hotel was empty.
We didn't try the pool but it did look smart.
Breakfast runs from 6am - 10am during the week and has a good selection of options, ranging from self cook waffles, muffins, eggs, bacon and breakfast potatoes to cereals, yoghurt fruit and toast.
