Reality didnât meet expectations
Let me start by saying that our team was very excited to stay at this property! The pictures looked amazing and it seemed like a very upscale place to stay, which is what we were looking for - especially for paying 1400/night. The communication with the property manager before hand was less than ideal, but manageable. We were really hoping to get an earlier check in and were willing to pay, but didnât receive official communication about check in until the check in time. But all of that wouldâve been easier to deal with if the rest of the trip had gone as planned. At first arrival, we noticed the house was remodeled in more of a âDIYâ way. I have a construction background and Iâm also a property manager for a VRBO listing, so I know the quality needs to be there in order to charge such a high nightly rate. Finishes were done poorly, floor boards were uneven, the hot water didnât work in the showers, and the overall home was in pretty poor condition. Especially for such a high price. But again, all of that wouldâve been overlooked if it hadnât been for the BUGS. As it got closer to bedtime, we quickly realized there were bugs in the bedrooms and even in the beds. We did some research and came to find out they were termites, and they were everywhere. We tried to stay out of the house and the bedrooms as much as possible, as we were all pretty grossed out by the whole situation. I would highly recommend taking this property off of VRBO until the problems are fixed.
