„Zermatt is based on a german town of the same name, and strives to emulate the same ascthetics. In this regard, it succeeds. But I suspect that, after Covid hit, it never fully recovered. There are empty buildings, small aspects that require attention, and outdated signage. Also, the spa is not complementary.“

Even the most budget hotels usually provide a kettle, so it was disappointing to have to heat water in the microwave. „We had no communication with the owner until we were on our way there. We got an email the day we were to check in giving us the details. The place is basically clean except for a stained tub that could be cleaned. The fan in the bathroom was broken. The kitchen had 1 plate and 1 bowl. The bed is so high off the ground you need a step stool to get in. There is a desk chair and another chair that is old and has no padding. There were 2 irons but no ironing board.
