« The farmhouse is OK. Host is very friendly and helpful. But the second night we didn't have hot water at all and found a pretty big scorpion and a tarantula on the wall and on the ceiling. »

« We wanted to connect with nature and it was all we wished for and more. The hosts were very professional helpful and friendly. The animals around the property brings life and joy. The property is ideal for walks and taking swims with in the river nearby. Truly the pura vida! »

« The family is so friendly! They greeted us upon our arrival even though it was raining really hard. The cabin we stayed in was perfect. It had everything you need and it was super private. The view from the bed was a $1M view. You could actually see the ocean from the top of the mountain. And you have to do the tour of the farm. It was absolutely worth it. What an amazing family and such rich heritage. I highly recommend. And super close to a cool town. »

« We enjoyed staying at the farm with our two kids while exploring the Monteverde area. The house was simply, but artistically decorated with natural log-plank furniture and murals of local wildlife. The farm dogs made friends with our kids, even our son who tends to be scared of dogs! Yes, it was rustic, but clean and welcoming! « The strong points are that it’s very calm/ quiet and in the middle of a large nice garden where you can already see a bunch of animals. No restaurant / breakfast on site but you have a few options nearby (walking distance) or you can take the car. « We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Castillo. The terrace had an amazing view of Arenal volcano, and we saw so many birds in the backyard. It was amazing to have coffee in morning and watch clouds roll through valley and listen to birdsong. The location is convenient for getting to Fortuna and nearby parks for hiking, but Castillo feels much more quaint and quiet for enjoying peaceful evenings. "Notre chambre, la plus chère de notre séjour, était extrêmement sombre, avec quasiment aucune fenêtre. Lumière indispensable même en journée. Aucune vue. Piscine sous un abris. Au final très mécontent du rapport qualité prix. "
