Very clean inside and out. All starter supplies lasted our six-day stay. Lots of nice touches like bagged ice in freezer, frig on both floors, ceiling fans in all rooms, balconies, and dock. Hotel quality linens and towels. Enjoyed using Blackstone griddle plus other grilling options. Paddle boards were fun and listening to music through doc speakers. Fishing charter with Captain Tony of ReelRock Adventures was great! Would come again!

We were so fortunate to stay at this wonderful property from August 16-23rd! The house itself is immaculate with plenty of sleeping and play spaces for the whole family. The adults and kids alike loved the games in the basement and the layout of the kitchen/dining/living room provided the perfect space for gathering together. Having a second fridge in the basement was also a plus with all the food and drinks we had to store. The location of this property simply can't be beat by both land and water. It's situated in a small cove inside a larger cove off the main channel, close to multiple marinas with restaurants but secluded enough to create the perfect and practically private swimming area. The dock was an amazing hang out space, providing both sun and shade as well as the dock house to store swimming gear and food/drinks in the refrigerator. If you're renting a boat and/or jetski, there's plenty of space to tie it up and still have ample space for swimming. The fire pit is a great addition to the yard as well.We had an issue with the front door not locking and the 'burner on' light consistently lit on the stove, and a vacasa rep came right out to fix the issues. Our only two complaints (if you can even call them that) were that the trash bins don't lock so critters got into them every night until we piled wood and rocks on top, and the grass and landscaping areas could use a good mowing and weed whacking. Can't wait to come back!

We have been coming to SML for about 30 years now and we would rate this house in the top 5 of the houses we've rented. The house was very comfortable, the dock is great, the kitchen had everything we needed for our multiple families of 12 people. We had a great time in the game room, enjoying our annual ping pong tournament!We would stay here again.

Great location, great views

This was our second visit to this rental. Last year we were really happy but disappointed this time. This year, we didn’t have access to paddle board paddles or canoe paddles. The bar in the deck was closed so we couldn’t turn lights on by the deck. We also didn’t have access to the floats like we did last year so we had to go out and buy some along with an air pump. The other frustration was that the cleaning crew showed up 45 minutes before our check out time so we had to work fast to get out. The things we enjoyed was the large family room, everything we needed was in the kitchen including containers for leftovers. The bedrooms were large and the outdoor area provided amble seating.

Great house for family vacation

We truly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The home had great space with plenty of room! One of the best treats was the dock and being able to enjoy the outdoors with plenty of room for the whole family. We loved the location and the lake in general.

Amazing Family Trip

We enjoyed our stay at Cabin on the Cove! We traveled with family and kids and the place was perfect. Clean and beautiful well kept home. We loved the dock. It had plenty of furniture and was perfect for our large group. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare family meals. The rooms were all nice and well kept. The game room was awesome but we spent most of our time on the dock and in the water. Very quiet cove where kids could swim and enjoy the water. We spent time on our boat which we docked at the house with no problems. There were tons of games, puzzles, and movies!!! I can’t say enough positives about the home. We bought stuff to make s’mores but never made it to the pit. Great place to stay with family.

Amazing does not cover it. House was clean and just as pictured and described. The boat dock was amazing spent a lot of time on it hanging out with my family. The open concept upstairs was a huge plus and the game room and rec area downstairs was a hit. House had all the amenities you could need or want. Have already recommended to others already.

Relaxing in the mountains

Tranquil setting in the mountains of SW Virginia was exactly what this family needed to unwind from the daily grind. Pleasantly surprised with the amenities and the view of Smith Mountain Lake. Would definitely do again.

Cabin fun

The house and property are beautiful. I was wary about dealing with a big company instead of the homeowner, because you can’t get simple questions answered like where to eat or rent a boat (luckily I researched all that ahead) but when we had an issue with the garbage, and I really thought we weren’t going to be assisted, but the garbage was indeed picked up the next morning, as per stated by the representative when I called. The house had a few minor issues, like a broken kitchen chair that was outside by the garbage when we arrived leaving us short a chair and all the 5 garbage bins provided being over full from Previous renters. Also, for a house that size, to only be given 2 dish towels, limited garbage bags, limited toilet paper, seems a little ridiculous. We had to buy countertop cleaner, garbage bags and toilet paper. There should be some more cleaning supplies so we can assist with keeping the kitchen clean. Also, a paddle board with no paddle! All in all SML was a great choice and i would recommend this house.

Perfect lake getaway

The house was immaculate and perfect for our group. The views from multiple rooms in the house was amazing. The outside area had lots of seating to enjoy the views! We have stayed at other SML properties and this was by far the easiest one to get to the lake level. There were some steps but not too steep. Would definitely stay her again!

Spring break getaway

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful home. The views were gorgeous and the teenagers loved the dock and fishing opportunities! We enjoyed wonderful conversations around the gorgeous, large island with our family where we laughed until we cried. We were even able to complete 2 large puzzles at one end of the island! We loved all of the bedrooms and the game room was a big hit for foosball, ping pong and air hockey. We all enjoyed our time together in this home!!

Great Place

The property was great. It had a perfect floor plan for the number of people we had there. We had 8 adults and 4 children. Access to the lake was amazing.. Sat by the water, and took the kids out on the Canoe. Immaculate house in a great location.

Family Recharge

Amazing. Property was clean and inviting. The view and dock a big plus. Family enjoyed the water activities (canoe and paddle board) during the day and the game room and games in the evening. Only comment from Grandma was the need for an additional table elsewhere in the house for cards, puzzles, crafts and games. Having just the dining room table and kitchen island made dining times a challenge. We will definitely be back!
