We would not stay here again. The location was nice that it was only 6 mins from Cannery Row. Other than location this hotel is subpar. The fireplace did not work which is one of the reasons I rented this place. Thought it would be nice to come back on a cold rainy night after being on the Row and have the girls fall asleep to a fire. The bath mat looked dirty and had hair on it, all sheets on all three beds had yellow stains and other stains.. not just one or two stains⊠a lot scattered over the sheets to where my 8 and 10yr old didnât wanna sleep in the beds because they didnât seem clean and all the pillows look like they are 20yrs old. We did not use the pillows.King bed was uncomfortable. The washrags also looked dingy. Husband went to get ice but the ice machine did not work. Just overall cleanliness seemed subpar. Not what I thought I was renting.
I'll begin with the positive...1) Great property manager. He was responsive and helpful. Answered every call and addressed my concerns.2) Quiet area. 3) Close drive to Cannery Drive and Fisherman's Wharf4) Affordable but should be less in my opinion considering the age of the property5) It appears that the bathrooms have been updated6) Comfortable bedNow, for the negative...1) The first room...the sink stopper didn't work. The water would not drain. This was rectified right away.2) All of the towels were stained. And I do mean all of the towels. This too was rectified right away.3) There was some type of animal scratching in the wall. I had to call the front desk again. He came right away and heard what I described. I was moved to a different room. This was handled immediately.4) The room I was moved to was right next door which was convenient. It was clean. However, the toilet was not functioning properly. I had to pour water down the toilet bowl so that it would flush. I was exhausted from traveling and all of the other issues with the first room. It was late so I decided to wait until the next day right before I checked out to report it to the very nice front desk man. It's a no frills spot to crash for a short stay. By no means should you expect the Ritz-Carlton. However, the manager could not have been nicer. He answered every call and came to assist me each time. That's more than some of the high-end hotels do.
