My husband, two toddlers, and I visited Acadia the week of Memorial Day and had a great stay at the Farmhouse. It is conveniently located in the middle of Acadia so all areas are easy to get to. The house was clean and cozy and would have comfortably fit one or two more families. The kitchen was fully stocked so we were able to eat most of our meals at the house.
The homeâs proximity to Bar Harbor and various points of interest in the park itself was great. I only wish we had more time to explore the quiet side. Owner was very responsive and the home was immaculate and thoughtfully appointed. The road noise was not a problem with fans running at night and the windows closed. I would worry about the bedrooms being hot during warmer months, but I would love to return in the Fall sometime!
We had a wonderful time exploring Acadia in the winter and thoroughly enjoyed this home as our home base. As advertised, beautiful and cozy and Tracey was a very thoughtful and accommodating host.
The two of us loved this farmhouse! The wildflower garden, chef's kitchen, and the most convenient location were highlights for us. Our host was really communicative and responsive whish we really appreciated. We will definitely stay here again!
We enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse. Itâs in a perfect location to explore all of the towns and parkânothing is more than 15minutes. It is even nicer than the pictures and had everything we needed. Plenty of space and a well stocked kitchen. Tracey was helpful and responsive!
Farmhouse was clean and in a good location to get to park destinations. Was nice to be close to the trails but outside the crowded bar harbor. Would definitely rent again.
A beautiful place to stay, with plenty of space for a family visit and easy access to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Tracey is super helpful and responsive, too. We're telling all our friends about it!
The Farmhouse is ideally located close to the park, NE Harbor and the road to Bar Harbor. It is on a busy road and you can hear the road noise inside the house, however it becomes white noise after a while. It is not as busy at night. There is parking behind the house but can only fit 2 cars in a row since the owner parks on the other side of the gravel lot. The inside of the house is beautifully decorated and the downstairs communal area with living room, dining room and kitchen is air-conditioned. The large kitchen is well equipped with a double oven and two fridges. One of the full baths is off the kitchen. Like many NE houses, the upstairs bedrooms are not air-conditioned and opening windows and turning on fans helps with the summer heat. Only the master bedroom is private although the mattress was not as comfortable. The other bedrooms have double beds and are walk through bedrooms including the attic with 4 single beds and a half bath (perfect for kids). There is a full bath on the second floor by the bedrooms. The owner, Tracey, is responsive to requests and provides detailed instructions on everything in the house. We enjoyed our stay at this quaint traditional Maine Farmhouse.
Loved the house and centralized location. Only issue for us is we are all older and the bedrooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floor and that was a challenge for our group.
The house served our purposes well, especially the central location and excellent kitchen and cozy living room. Two items that should be more fully described on the web are the intrusion of the loud road traffic noise and the third floor bedroom being accessed only through the second floor bedroom.
We were two couples touring New England from Oregon, and were just amazed at how gorgeous and well-appointed this Maine farmhouse was. It felt like the owners just stepped out for a few days - there were so many personal touches. The kitchen was amazing! Two ovens, two refrigerators and supplies galore for cooking. The bedrooms were comfy and plush - we had our choice of numerous sleeping options/areas. And the attic for kids to stay would be perfect as it has a half bath up there too. We could have stayed for weeks, it was so homey and well furnished. Yes, you can hear the road noise from the bedrooms, so bring earplugs if that might bother you. Tracey was super responsive to our inquiries. Abel's Lobster across the road was a really great restaurant1
We loved the charm of this property, from the fireplace to the gardens. While this is very centrally located (10-15 min to destination in any direction), we were a bit surprised by the road noise in the front bedroom. The kitchen was fully stocked, bathroom and linens were great. We didn't realize that 2 of the bedrooms are 'walk throughs', so just something to be aware of depending on your travel group dynamics. Plenty of comfy beds, great dining area and very hot water! Tracey was very responsive during our stay.
This is such a perfect farmhouse - in a national park!!! My three sisters and I traveled from around the US to spend some time together and enjoy New England in the Fall. The gods were on our side! This house was such a nice part of our reunion. Itâs quiet and peaceful, in the middle of the Maine woods. The host has done a wonderful job in making her home cozy and fun, from high-quality pillows and sheets to puzzles and games. Everything is very homey! The fireplace had a little trouble keeping the smoke outside, and the house is a little quirky, but it so charming in the layout and giving you a feel for how it would have been to live in the woods 100 years ago. I canât wait to go back!!
This really is like Being at home! And u should treat it like itâs urs! Great location and great host! Always available and very helpful with any accommodations or things you would like to do.
House well set up for family vacation. Centrally located to enjoy Acadia, lobster, ice cream. House well stocked with kitchen items, dvds, games, linens, even bath robes. Only oddity was dispute with owner regarding damage to a chair a week after checkout. We were not aware of damage and she never told us which chair was damaged.
The restored farmhouse was lovely but a bit too close to the road. Not much yard or outdoor hangout space but wild flowers were nice. Air conditioning on first floor only meant open windows upstairs at night. No lights to read by on third floor - best suited for little kids with squeaky single beds. Upstairs layout awkward since you have to travel through two bedrooms to get to third floor and through one bedroom to get to one of the second floor bedrooms. Could use another table in the kitchen. Dining room very nice, kitchen well equipped and 2 fridges. Nice.
