Overall, it was a good stay but had some frustrations with things that should be functioning better. Garbage disposal didn't work. One piece of deck railing broken in half which made it scary to have a 1.5 yr old on the upstairs deck as he could fall through the opening that we had to cover. Ice trays broken/cracked. Cheap blinds upstairs and downstairs that were damaged or not functioning properly. I expected things to be "dated" but functionality was lacking at times. I did appreciate the communication with the company though as they were very prompt with their responses to any questions.

weekend at the beach

enjoyed a relaxing time at the beach with family- lovely area, right across from the beach and water. PERFECT place to stay. Enjoyed the local restaurants, ice cream, donut shops and morning walks.

Freshcoast Crossfit Comp on Pier Marquette Beach

It was great.....the house is a great location ... Needs fixed up.....a mirror upstairs .....the pictures are old cuz the house needs some serious TLC.....the blinds are OLD and the strings were in knots....the patio furniture and light ouside needs to be updated and invest in an umbrella for the upstairs deck....Circulating big fans too....none of this cost much money.....we had a great time there tho....!!!

Beach Paradise!

Although an older cottage, and small....the beach proximity is perfect and I would stay here over and over again! Everything was as posted, except for instructions for a testy lockbox when we first arrived....the property manager was available and helped within an hour so we could get into the house and settle in. The one thing we feel the home lacked is an actual dining table, but they have several long benches and also an outdoor deck table where we ate most of our meals. FYI, this home is not handicapp accessible, so be aware. The rug near the back door was a slippy one and should probably have an under rug mat or be removed completely! All in all, we had a great time and would recommend this home if you have a small party and want the perfect location to the beach!

Several Issues

The only thing that is as advertised here is the location. Upon arrival we had an ant issue, the trash was not removed from the prior renter, the shower didn’t drain, the stove didn’t work and the dryer squeaked so loud you couldn’t hear the TV. The customer service team was prompt with their responses, however when you’re paying top dollar for a vacation rental your vacation should not be interrupted by maintenance men coming to the property to fix things that should have been in working order upon arrival.

Wonderful location for this spacious home across the street from the beach. Wonderful walking and eats in the area. Updated bathroom. Comfy bed. Would stay again.

A beach in your front yard !

This cottage is right across the street from Pere Marquette beach . It is a beautiful view . The front yard is like having your own beach ! The house is cute with a well equipped kitchen . There is no air conditioning but there are ceiling fans downstairs and a window fan for the upstairs window . There is only one way upstairs and it is a spiral staircase . We did not have any problems using the staircase but if you have mobility issues, it could be a problem . I loved this house . It was perfect for us for the week .

This property is exactly as advertised and more. You couldn't ask for a better location..right on the beach. Our other favorite part was the sand in the front yard. Great place to sit and ready or watch the beautiful sunsets. Kitchen was well stocked, shower had great water pressure, and towels, beach chairs and beach umbrella were provided. We had the best vacation and we couldn't have been happier. 1 note: make sure to read the Salty Vacations rental agreement. It differs from the VRBO terms and conditions.

As advertised. Great place. Maintenance issues

We loved staying here. The location is beautiful. It is just as listed. Lots of sun umbrellas, towels, supplies. Lots of seating inside and out. The kitchen was the most well equipped VRBO I’ve experienced. There were, however, maintenance issues that need attention before the next guest. There are two downstairs windows that do not even lock (both have broken fixtures/locks). When we tried to open the upstairs window (over the twin bed), the bottom of the wood window frame fell off exposing the pane of glass — which slid partially out of the pane and then stopped. Luckily it did not fall onto the ground below. Kinda dangerous and needs fixed. We reported these things to the manager. One of the roll-up shades in the living room was broken which cut down on the view a bit. Apart from these maintenance issues, our stay was wonderful and we would stay again.

Great location

This is a really cool house right across the street from the beach. The front yard is all sand and the kids had a blast playing there when we were inside cooking or chilling on the deck. Highly recommend going to see live music each night at The Deck which is a short walk away and also family friendly. Muskegon is a fun place to be!

The Best Location!

Pictures don’t justify how wonderful this small house is. Definitely enough space for a family of 5. This is the best location on the beach with stunning views and beautiful sunsets. We will be back!!
