Nags head stay!
We came to stay for April vacation! It was my 8 year old son, myself and my boyfriend. The property was beautiful! We grilled on the porch and walked to the beach everyday! We loved the mini golf near by and the beach the best. I highly recommend staying at the property and we would love to come back!

Spring Break Vacation
We enjoyed our stay and found the owners to be very attentive and responsive in a timely manner when we had concerns. Although accommodations were adequate, we really would have loved a bathtub.

For seniors not good lots of stairs no hand rail at check in door and wasn’t told it was underneath the house no basic tv had large tv but could get them to work.shower in first bathroom the handle was about to fall off for the price overall I guess it was good

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, most properties close to the beach are required to have stairs due to potential floods. We will add this information to the listing for those that may not be aware. The televisions are functional, but use newer apps that may be difficult for some seniors. We wish you would have contacted us so we could have helped you. We will check the shower handle. Thanks for letting us know.

I question the cleanliness of the bed linens. House was as described and a good value for the money. One bathroom is very small and this home would not be handicap appropriate. I have a broken leg so all the stairs inside and out were challenging. If you are not handicapped like me I would recommend it for the price.

Thank you for your response. Yes, most houses close to the beach have stairs due to potential flooding. I agree that our house is not handicap accessible. We will be sure to add this information to the listing. The housekeeper reports all sheets were changed and clean.

Great Stay.
I came up to do some duck hunting with a group of buddies. We came during the off season and didn’t want to spend a fortune. This house was perfect for us. For the price of what you are getting. It can’t be beat.

Great location!
This property provided us everything we wanted. My husband and I traveled with our two adult daughters and young granddaughter. There are so many great things to say about this property. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms provided all of us privacy. A very well stocjed kitchen was definitely a plus for lunches and late night snacks. It would be very easy to fix a meal for a group during your visit. There is a gas grill, and plenty of outdoor space for sunbathing and picnics. There are top notch TVs in every room and access to any prime time TV you would be interested in watching. It was an easy walk straight to the beach (crossing only one road). Other amenities include a washer and dryer, outside shower, corn hole boards and plenty of board games and puzzles for indoor activities. The a/c and fans were great! This is a well stocked home. If you forgot something you are probably going to find it available. I was very satisfied with the daily price during the peak season and being able to limit our days there. I would definitely recommend this home.

We Loved our house and everything about it! We had a slight hickup upon arriving; that was taken care of quickly and efficiently by the home owners. The location is very close to a public beach access. I would absolute book this house again.

OBX Relax Cottage
Excellent location. It truly is close to the beach. A simple stroll or quick run back for forgotten items or to get a snack. This is a family friendly no frills cost effective place. The outside shower is a bonus. We enjoyed the beach, golf courses & restaurants then came home to a game of corn hole. We were 2 families of 6.

Holiday Getaway
We booked this stay to come celebrate a wedding of friends, but also have a personal getaway for ourselves. The house is exactly how its pictured. It is conveniently located near the beach without being up on the water. There are many dining, shopping and entertainment options outside the house, but honestly, not needed. The house offers some board games, TV in every room and beautiful views from 3 separate patios. We will definitely be booking again!

Quick family gathering
We loved the location and set up of the home. It is just the right size for smaller groups. All the basics were supplied as well as sheets, towels and linens. The black out curtains are awesome as well as the giant beanbag! We loved the local wildlife as well. The home could use some updating and the TV functions/non-functions were confusing. The shower seams needed to be sealed but maybe it was just renovated. We also had a sofa bed break, that had been previously "fixed". All in all, it was a very good stay.

We enjoyed our stay, we loved the location & short walk to the beach. We would love to stay here again. Bathroom door was broken but wasn't a huge deal, also the heat/air was funky to adjust but we made it and overall had a beautiful time.

Lots of interior defects, bathroom door inoperable, heating system insufficient for Jan temperatures, lots of of chilly times. Good neighborhood, guiet street, easy access to beach, bed was comfortable, wifi a bit spotty ,price was good

Thank you for this information. The house is an older home that is comfortable and located in an ideal location. If you want a home with all the frills, I would definitely recommend looking at the more expensive and less affordable properties. The bathroom door has been fixed. WiFi tends to be spotty all over the island because you are staying on an island.

OBX Christmas
Wonderful Christmas getaway!! If your looking for a comfortable, relaxing place to stay this is it. Nothing fancy, but has everything you need. The house was close to the beach, clean & had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Despite things that were out of the owners control & ours (who would think at the beach you would have to deal with frozen pipes ..lol mother nature has a mind of her own) my family & I made Christmas memories that we will cherish. The owners were quick to respond & help with the issue we had & even offered other accommodations, but we loved the house so much we stuck it out for a day without water until the pipes thawed out. Over all the house & location is great! Look forward to visiting again someday!

Our South Nags Head stay
The three of us really liked the location; quiet area, a short walk to the beach, a close drive to restaurants and stores and the layout of the home was open and fun. We each commented though, on how much better it would have been had the house been clean. Mold on the shower curtains, old stained flimsy pillows on the beds, the master bedroom king sized mattress needs replaced…a good bit of TLC and pride in ownership would improve the whole rental experience.

Thank you for your response. I say this with respect, but it is very difficult to please everyone. Most people report the bed is extremely comfortable, but bed comfort is subjective. We do change the shower liners 3x per year and the pillows 1x per year. We do take pride in our home, but it is an older home that reflects the many memories shared within its walls.

Upon arrival, the property was as described. The keyless door entry made check-in easy. But pretty much goes downhill from there. After using the bathroom, discovered there was no toilet paper. Now, we're there for a week, have no problem buying toilet paper, but, it seemed odd there wasn't any, not even a square too be used before heading off to the grocery store. This becomes the trend, no garbage bags, no dish towels to dry dishes, no paper towels.. again, staying for a week, happy to buy things, but having none is crummy. The dish towels seems like a no brainer if you don't have a dishwasher, so had to use a bathroom towel to dry all the dishes. Moving on to the other issues, the wall up the stairs had significant moisture damage and is literally beginning to peel and pull off the studs. There were multiple outlets that were broken, and yes it's the outlet, as the devices worked in other locations. The windows are rusting and are so dirty one can't really see out of them. The shower on the main floor handle is broken and drips all night, as well as the handle doesn't seem to turn correctly so the water is either scorching hot or freezing cold. All of these are of course minor issues, but all together show a lack of upkeep on the property and made for a less than stellar stay. I would look elsewhere when visiting the area.

We appreciate your feedback. We have updated our checkin list to reflect that paper towels and toilet paper are not provided. We opt to keep the house at an affordable rate versus the provision of toiletries. There is no moisture damage. We added an air and heating system to an older home that originally had none, which caused the wall damage. We plan to fix this in the future for improved aesthetics, but the damage is just that, or aesthetic in nature. As you mentioned, many of your comments are minor, but we do take them into account and do address them. Thanks again for the feedback as it helps us to better inform future guests.

Veterans Day fishing trip
Private and perfect location. Short distance to Oregon inlet and piers. House was clean and had plenty of room for parking. Location made for easy access for surf fishing at Oregon inlet and was close to Jeanette's and Outer Bañks fishing piers. Back of the house has a very nice deck. Inside has an open floor plan, and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Recommend this property

Perfect for an OBX vacation
Cottage De A&E was perfect for my family. A bit dated and well-worn but clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped for indoor cooking and dining. When we had questions, the owners were responsive and immediately addressed any concerns we had. Perfect location to the beach. We enjoyed our stay very much. Couple of notes: 1) cell phone service is spotty, we only had one bar almost everywhere in the immediate neighborhood. There is Wi-Fi but if it goes out, like it did for our first night, you won’t have any access to the Internet and TV. But there were games and puzzles for entertainment. It’s a great time to unplug from tech. We all participated in putting together a 500 piece puzzle in 2 days. 2) The shower handle requires jiggling to get the water temp right but once you get the hang of it, it’s fine with plenty of hot water.

Great place to destress for the week
We had a great time at this quaint, old school beach house. It's was really perfect for us! I loved being able to feel at home while hanging around the house and also able to walk right to the beach in just a few minutes! Love the 3 decks! depending on which time of the day it was, would be the deck of choice. Large back deck in the evenings and the front decks in the morning. Spacious for everyone too. The only con if I had to say one was we brought our big ford truck and it was narrow to park for us. My husband had to make a 3 point turn to get in and out, but was easy to get used to. Overall We would definitely come back!

Beautiful home
Quiet neighborhood backing the reserve. Huge decks to hang out on. The house was clean and well maintained. We walked just a few mins to the beach everyday. This was a nice family friendly location. We jumped in the car to visit all the nearby restaurants and shops. Everything is close by without being right on top of you. Fyi: I suggest bringing extra toilet paper, paper towels, soaps, and your own beach towels. There's a washer and dryer so bring detergent. Food lion and dollar general's are nearby for picking up extras. I'd absolutely stay again.

Great Stay at the Outer Banks
The property shows some age but is an excellent deal for a winter stay. It is well equipped close to the areas we most wanted to visit. We are birders (not too serious) and visited Pea Island and Bodie several times. We did breakfast in, lunch was either leftovers or a picnic, and dinner was in a restaurant (Mama Kwan's is our favorite).
