The mattress needed to be replaced. It sank in the middle. The window shade didn't prevent the parking lights from entering the room at night. The door wouldn't shut or lock due to a screw popping out. I asked the night attendant if they had a screwdriver with a hex bit, but they didn't have one. I ended up getting the screw to go back enough to close the door and lock but it took 10 mins with the limited tools available. The clerks were nice but couldn't resolve the issue or even allow us to switch rooms to the opposite side of the building.

Very accommodating. The staff helped us get a room on the first floor because they didn't have an elevator and I have a walker. The only thing I didn't like was the shower had no grab bars and being handicapped. I slipped but caught myself but a grab bar would have been better for me. But I would go back and make sure that I rented a room on the first floor next time. Thank you

Very nice place to stay while we were in the area visiting Hocking Hills. Our room was very clean and homey, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely visit again!

My boyfriend and I went for a weekend trip. Definitely far from hocking hills trails. It just felt like a basic hotel, nothing too special. The inside was clean other than in the shower there was a ton of other peoples hair stuck to the inside of the shower curtain. The breakfast was not ideal. Only a few items and they were out of milk one day so cereal was not an option. I get what you pay for.

The single room was very clean and spacius. The location to OU is just a short 17min drive. The lobby is also very clean and inviting. The staff was also very helpful, polite and friendly.

It was a quick, one-night stay for a show in town. I checked in at 4p., went to the show, came back and slept, woke up and then left. Based on such a quick stay, it was sufficient and I encountered no issues.

The Lodge is a very well-maintained imposing structure with soaring ceiling in the reception area- highlighted by top-notch woodwork. There is ample parking outside. The room we were assigned had a log-frame Queen bed and a fully functioning refrigerator/freezer. The room coffee machine and coffee were of high quality (we did have to pick up extra decaf pods from the reception, along with Splenda packets so we did not have to use the pink sweetener typically kept in the rooms in most hotels). The breakfast was continental, and a little threadbare (muffins, lowfat milk and yogurt, and very high quality waffles). Adding some fruit would make the breakfast more rounded. The check-in staff and other personnel were uniformly friendly (just as described in other reviews). And indeed the entire establishment was spotlessly clean. One additional suggestion: it would help to keep a supply of spare toiletry (toothbrush, paste and comb)- there are typically available at most hotels for guests who may have forgotten to pack these essentials. Overall- the stay and the amenities earn this Lodge a firm A-. Minimal improvements based on my comments will lead to a perfect A.

Clean place and priced well. The staff was not hospitable and ironically there are signs out front saying it is the hospitality training center for Hocking College. Not friendly or welcoming. It’s truly not a lodge of the traditional source, the included continental breakfast was subpar at best. However, we realize the cost reflected what we got. Just hoping this sets the expectation for people in the future.

I had to change my bed sheets once I got there. It looked like someone just made the bed without changing the sheets after the last person left. The bed was certainly broke in..( bowed inward) Other than that it was good..

If you are looking for a basic no frills affordable place to stay, this is it. Convenient to the state parks? Quiet. Staff is attentive and available. Rooms are clean. Nice place to stay.

Highly recommend- very clean
Stayed here for Ohio University sibs weekend, its about a 17 minute drive from Athens and a great option if you are trying to save money. Much cleaner than many hotels I've stayed at and the staff is always delightful.
