We booked this Hill Country property because I grew up visiting the area and love it. The photos made it look beautiful, but our experience didn’t match. Our arrival started poorly. The owner sent us our unique check in code to unlock the door, but the code didn’t work, leaving us locked out in 100 heat for 45 minutes with two small children while trying to reach him.Inside, we discovered no functioning hot water. The owner asked us to check his propane tank but never fixed it, leaving only lukewarm water all weekend—barely enough to bathe our kids, certainly not for normal showers or dishes.Cleanliness was disappointing: spiderwebs on multiple surfaces, no towels in bathrooms (only damp ones left in the dryer), and dirty cookware with dried food. It’s clear the property isn’t being properly maintained. The amenities and surroundings were also misrepresented. The grill was rusted through and unusable, forcing us to buy our own pans. The “glamping community” described online was mostly unfinished lots and active construction more eerie than relaxing. This home could be lovely, but it’s poorly cared for. Between the check-in trouble, lack of hot water, dirty conditions, and neglected amenities, our stay was stressful and disappointing. Unless significant improvements are made, I wouldn’t recommend this rental.
