The front deck woods is popping up, fridge has no light, range hood not working and mattress are very old no mattress frames. Up the addict, there are bunches of old mattress. Creepy!! Windows cover with spider webs.
First air-brb that weâve ever stayed in that there were spiders cobwebs in the curtains and the walls. The beds did not sit on any frames. It was box springs and beds. The bedding was dirty around the beds slept in our clothes. Wanted to clean the dishes and so aware, but the cleaning utensil brushes were extremely dirty. Felt like nobody came and claimed the place after the last renter. Contacted the owner and he did comp us back the last two nights stay because of no water. I would advertise this as rustic at best. Nothing wrong with the view.
We spent a long weekend at this house to escape the hustle and bustle of our busy lives for our wedding anniversary.
My favorite parts were watching the sunrise against the Potomac River and relaxing in the hammock. It was so quiet, save for the occasional motor boat cruising by on the far side of the river.
The house had all the basic necessities, and met all of our expectations.
If youâre looking for a peaceful waterfront getaway, give this house a try.
I recently enjoyed a wonderful workcation at this property, which proved to be exactly what I needed. The Wi-Fi was reliable, allowing me to work remotely without any issues, all while taking in the scenic views. The rooms were clean, providing a comfortable and welcoming environment. I did notice some minor stains on the white sofas, and I suggest providing cleaner fabric covers for future guests to enhance the overall experience. Additionally, the charming older house does have its quirks, including some noises that initially startled my dog during the night. However, closing the bedroom door at night mitigated this issue effectively. Overall, this stay was exceptional value for the price, and I would recommend it to those looking for a serene getaway with all the amenities needed for remote work.
Floor is very uneven. I have balance issues. No way to get kayaks in or out of the water. Ladder off dock was missing steps. Grass needed mowing (lots of bugs). Weeds growing up through the deck (poison). No lights on dock and slats were very dangerous (needs repair) No curtains, which is a little scary and (bright). Bed was comfortable. Kitchen was nice. Host was nice. Fishing was good. Very difficult to get to the beach with extremely narrow pathway with 7ft tall reeds. Area was beautiful. Scenic. Unfortunately no boat rental in the area. Most went out of business (Covid) or people abusing rentals. Nearby grocery was fantastic (adjoining Post Office).
The views were outstanding. The kayacs, dock and lifejackets were next door not at the property i rented. Photographs were misleading. Kayaks were stored on the ground upsidedown. There was growth around the kayaks giving it the appearance of not having been moved in some time. I wasnt going to be the one to flip over that kayak! The lifejackets were outside on the deck. Yuck! They also appeared to have been outside for sometime. I didnt want to put them on. The hammock was weather beaten ripped up and unusable. The firealarm had been disabled yet it went off while using outside grill? The only bowl in kitchen large enough to toss a salad had dust an inch thick. No wifi or tv either. Honestly ive never given anywhere a bad review before but this rental is not as advertised. Yes i did try to reach out for help. Prior to leaving i emailed several times with days elapsing before being told to call a number that was provided. At that point i had just general questions. Upon arrival i called and was given information that wasnt helpful.
Comfortable house with beautiful views, starry nights and a fun plenty of fish catching dock made for a great family vacation. This is a quiet town where nature takes center stage. Chapel Point State Park is great for single kayak and paddle boards.
