« Unfortunately the hotel had some problems in the kitchen which impacted very badly on the menu for dinner, the breakfast, service (so slow) and noise. It would have been better to fix the problems before reopening or to have had the courtesy to let us know in advance what the situation was. I would have stayed somewhere else. Extremely disappointing as I’ve had lovely stays here in the past. »

« Absolutely fabulous few days away. This is a real gem of a hotel. Quiet and secluded but a real joy to experience. The staff are so helpful and genuine (Rosie, Sharon and Oliver deserve medals) There was plenty of choice for breakfast, the cooked breakfast was tasty and well presented. The evening dinner menu and quality of food was 10/10. I think it could be even better with a slightly extended menu. We will be back x »

« There was a slight issue when we checked in as the information folder containing wifi codes etc was missing. But this was quickly resolved by contacting the owners, who were friendly and responded quickly to messages. Overall the accommodation was great, spacious and very quiet. But at the same time close to local facilities and transport. We would definitely stay again if visiting the area. »

« This is a busy hotel on Sunday’s but has plenty of parking. The staff are exceptional and room 201 with a tub in the window is perfect for a romantic weekend. The hotel is a short walk from the Rock Inn and the moor. The food in the bar and main restaurant is varied and delicious with breakfast being served in the conservatory. The bus service to Widecombe in the moor is very limited and needs to be considered if you intend to visit the area. Overall a very pleasant stay. »
