Nice house but owner didnt would not help with emergency issues

Nice oroperty, unfortunately there was an issue with a clogged condensate drain line. Told the owner who did not understand the urgency. She told us to turn off the air conditioner, because it was just the humidity. That was not the problem. Even sent her videos of the water pouring though the ceiling. Did nothing as we spent 2 days mopping up water. Didnt even refund us anything for the inconvenience we dealt with. We had buckets full of water trying to catch the water from the ceiling. We didnt stay in the house much due to the inconvenience caused by Hvac drain leak.

Quiet neighborhood, perfect distance from the beach

The house is great, perfectly outfitted for a family. The neighborhood is quiet, great for early morning walks or runs. There are plenty of shops and amenities close. The beach is a short drive (or walk) from the house. We would definitely stay here on our next visit to Oak Island!

Much needed getaway

We were thoroughly pleased with our stay. The house was clean and we enjoyed our after dinner walks to the beach. We were located very central to everything. Restraunts, the beach, ice cream. We had a lovely stay.

Great Location

This property is located near everything. Beach is a walkable distance. House was clean and stocked with what we needed for our stay. Having beach chairs and beach toys was a plus.

Wonderful!

We had a wonderful time at this property. Clean, roomy, loved the carport and the beach wagon, chairs and toys were an extra perk! Marta was very easy to contact and delightful to talk with when we could not figure out the lock. We would definitely stay here again!

Great Place - Short Walk

Had a quick getaway with the Family to Oak. It was the first time that Id been back in 20+ years. House was on point, Host was phenominal with their communication. Walk was not bad at all. Would go back again, and would recommend.

Nice Stay

The overall stay was nice and met our needs. It fit our two families nicely, the children's room is nice and big, they have a smart TV so it was easy to connect to shows/games. The carport was a nice sitting area but you'll definitely want bug spray. It was great having a grill and an outdoor shower. It is a quiet area but close to the busy part of the island. We were able to walk to a local ice cream store on the same side of the big road which was nice. The walk to the beach is no way 5 minutes unless you are a very fast walker and you aren't carrying anything. You have to cross a 4 lane road and the road Ts so you have to go right or left to get to the beach access (took about 15-20 minutes). It was very hot when we came so the walk was hard with the four little kids. Having to put on the sheets yourself is not ideal, make sure you bring a stopper for the bathtub (we had to give our kids showers), and bring extra toilet paper and paper towels (minimal provided), shampoo/conditioner not provided (not that abnormal, I am just used to having those at the other places we rent so had to go buy some), and you are not allowed to use the bath towels for anything else so you need to buy kitchen towels or use a lot of paper towels.

Teacher Getaway 2023

This property was wonderful for 6 teachers looking to rest up for the upcoming school year! The house was beautiful and very clean! It came stocked with a great selection of beach items. The beds were comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet. The property manager was so nice, even allowing an earlier check in. She also left us a sweet gift and note of appreciation. Great stay!

Overall great but very disappointing arrival surprise

Location was perfect. Wanted somewhere where we could have a short walk to the beach. Also v grateful for all the beach supplies provided - chairs, body board, buckets/spades, coolbag & ice packs... It really enhanced our stay! We had a very disappointing surprise on arrival.. exhausted after a 9hr drive with 3 kids to find we had to make our own beds. That should’ve been on the listing -I hope this helps future guests. If I had known ahead I would’ve been mentally prepared, or perhaps even chosen not to book. We had to figure out which beds were queen/double & then all the fun & games of getting sheets on bunks or double beds that are up against walls… They also ask you to strip beds at the end, and ‘wipe down all the surfaces’. Honestly? This made me nervous. Does that mean they don’t clean surfaces? The guest before me could have used anything at all to clean surfaces :/. So I actually went ahead & spray cleaned them all on arrival myself just to be sure. Anyway once we got all that done it was fine. Kitchen was fairly well stocked. As a tea drinker I would have appreciated a kettle. Had to boil water in a saucepan. Not a big deal. Freezer door doesn’t close properly. All our ice cream melted before we realised. It needs a firm second push in. And missed kitchen scissors and/or chopping board for slicing pizza. None of this was a huge deal and we loved our break. Beautiful well appointed little cottage. Wld’ve been 5* without the niggles.

Looks can be deceiving

I’ve got to admit, when I pulled up, I thought, what have I gotten myself into. Then we went inside… it was gorgeous and nicely renovated! Great location and the owner was very responsive and accommodating! Such a nice getaway and will definitely be returning!!

Oak Island Family Vacation

This property was well maintained and very convenient to stay at. It is a short walk to the beach and with the beach cart this was easy to do. The outside rinse off area was very nice for removing sand from everything. We enjoyed using the grill and just sitting outside and visiting. Marta was always available to answer any questions and was very welcoming.

Unexpected Gem

Don't let the outer appearance of this little cottage fool you. It's cute on the outside with plenty of parking but the inside is beautiful. We had 8 adults with us and were plenty comfortable. Plus it's close to everything!! Marta was a pleasure to work with and even has beach chairs and an umbrella we could use.

Home away from home

Place was very cozy and instantly felt inviting. Located walking distance to the beach and within miles of many restaurants and stores. I will certainly add this location as one of our top vacation spots.
