This is a pleasant property less than 45 minutes from Charlottesville that met our needs for an abbreviated stay away from the pricey weekend rates in the university city. The hotel lobby appeared freshly painted (yet spartan) and our third floor accessible suite was clean and inviting. We were greeted with a smile and exited with the same. It was better than we expected and to par based on the brand.

The property had a renovation that was not completed. Room was spacious,very clean and well appointed but was missing baseboard and a transition between carpeted area and tile made with blue painters tape. The staff were really friendly and helpful...a real plus for our stay.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. My only negative was the room condition. The bathroom had a missing corner/soap holder in the shower. Also, it appears lights needed to be added above our beds, and had not been placed. However, the areas were not painted and looked like work needed to be completed.

Great stay. Remodeled rooms were very clean. No tv directory so had to scroll through all the shows. Takes a bit for each page to load. Front desk said there was a directory/menu on channel 8, but there was not a guide on any station.

Holiday traveling
We have stayed here the last few Christmas nights. Regina at the front desk was very friendly & welcoming when we checked in after we celebrated Christmas all day with family in the town. The hotel has been renovated since last year and is nice & comfortable.

Just a couple problems
The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. My onlynissues were, the front desk person seemed to be doing everything from running the ft. Desk, vacuming and doing the breakfast, so breakfast was kind of slow. Also the coffe maker in the room was a nightmare. It was a twin coffee pot, but when I went to brew just 1 cup, yes I had the switch to 1 cup, water still came out of both sides.

This hotel was sufficient for our needs and the staff was friendly. However there were a few items of concern: hair in the bathroom upon arrival; had to go downstairs to ask for a plug for the bathtub as there was none; no phone in the room to call the front desk; outdated TV with inability to use a guide, simply had to scroll channels and hope for the best; no box of tissues, usually found in the bathroom. If they’re going to charge 200+ for a night’s stay, they’ll need to step up their game.

Overall, it was a good choice. The hotel is in the middle of upgrading, so there was little lobby furniture or decor. The room was larger than most hotel rooms and very nice, very functional. One problem: The TV channels were spotty, e.g. CBS and NBC worked but not ABC or PBS. Free breakfast the next morning included a variety, with scrambled eggs and sausage patties.

Very clean throughout hotel yet, would love to see carpet in room replaced to match the super upgrades that have been done throughout the room. All amenity areas very clean. Would love to see sanitizer containers refilled in the exercise room. Whirlpool was excellent! Also, a little more tidiness in the parking lot would be great! Overall, very good visit!

An average hotel
This hotel is clean. Once you walk into the lobby it smell like bleach. We have stayed there twice in a month. The bed is too low. The King bed need support. The one mattress is not enough. Breakfast was nothing special. A couple told us at breakfast that they check in yesterday and the hotel staff had a hard time finding them toilet paper. My biggest issue I don't know how much I pay in taxes.

Regina was the best. I came in hungry from being at airport all day long and she fed me. Best service ever. But I did collect tons of ants the whole time. Says gym is open 24/7 but sign on door says otherwise. Must be redoing the front entrance as it was bare. But service people from cleaning crew, breakfast, etc should be commended.
