Erected on top of a 1200 m high mountain, the fortress, comprising six citadels, was the core of a strategic defensive system in the OrăƟtie Mountains (in present-day Romania)... Sarmizegetusa Regia should not be confused with Ulpia Traiana Sarmizegetusa, the Roman capital of Dacia built by Roman Emperor Trajan some 40 km away, which was not the Dacian capital. Sarmizegetusa Ulpia was discovered earlier, was known already in the early 1900s, and was initially mistaken for the Dacian capital, a confusion which led to incorrect conclusions being made regarding the military history and organization of the Dacians...

Hotel exceptionnel !! Mais les installations du spa n’était pas en fonction lors de notre sĂ©jour. Sauna sec et humide et le jacuzzi non ouvert. Super belle vue et restaurant dĂ©licieux.

Working class town with a fortress. Great restaurants nearby. Go left then right on a 3 minute walk for great Romanian food at a good price. Ps. They had a crazy awesome massage chair in the room. The room was massive, too!

We stayed in the property for two weeks, our family is 3 adults and 4 children, We enjoyed our stay to a very high standards, however it took us some time to get used to the dogs barking, and chickens calling early in the morning, Otherwise the owner of the house including his staff were very ...
