We were extremely disappointed with the poor maintenance of this home and our interactions with the host. Upon arrival, the house was very cold (63F) during near-record low Florida temperatures, and the heat did not work. The heater never turned on. We contacted the host and sent photos as requested, but although they said the issue would be fixed, no one came that night and no timeline was provided. We had no extra blankets or space heaters for adults or children, and nothing was offered. When the heating issue was still unresolved the next morning, we checked out and found another rental. Our refund request was denied, and the host claimed there were no issues with the home, including the heat. While there were many other problems (garage door opener not working, multiple lights out, missing guard rail on the top bunk, gaming system not working, etc.), we would have stayed if the heat had been fixed. We also paid 400 to heat the pool and hot tub, but the heater was not on despite the host insisting it was working. A maintenance worker arrived the next morning only to fix a bunk step and was unaware of the missing guard rail or heating issues. The listing photos were misleading and appeared AI-generated or altered, as some rooms differed from what was advertised. The host even denied the missing guard rail and sent a photo claiming it was present, despite our photo showing it was not. We feel deceived and hope VRBO thoroughly investigates this listing and host.
