Great and friendly staff, super close to the beach with a little walk through the woods. Cute little pet friendly cabin which was fully stocked with everything we needed. The house was clean, could use some minor improvements but overall we were happy with the place!

Cute and kitschy

Great location in Otter Rock with private beach access. The cottage is OG vintage with a lot of character. The carpet in the corners of the bedroom looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in a long time and it was fairly dusty. FYI the stairs to the beach are damaged and unusable, so be prepared to do some light climbing up/down where the wooded path meets the ocean. Fine for us but others may have trouble with this.

Mermaid’s Rest - A wonderful place to stay near Newport, OR

We really enjoyed this wonderful A-frame cottage in a coastline complex in Otter Crest, close to Newport, OR. The amenities were very good, nice decor, and the setting was peaceful—less than 0.25 mile walk to the beach.

Lovely stay at Mermaid’s Rest

Mermaid’s Rest was a sweet little spot for our family of 4. We loved the short walk to the beach and the proximity to Otter Rock and Depoe Bay. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect Home Base for Exploring

I came out here for a long weekend with my daughter. We had no real plans other than that we wanted to explore. Otter Rock is perfectly in between Newport and Depoe Bay. We had no trouble finding our way to the beach and various local attractions. The house instructions were clear and very helpful - I love that you included weather information and recommended attractions, and the "speak like a local" guide. The house itself was tastefully decorated, clean, and had everything we could possibly need. Thanks for the home away from home. Can't wait to come back!
