Garrapata State Park

While driving South between Monterrey and Big Sur along the rugged coastal highway 1, Lynn and I saw a picturesque trail winding down to the ocean cliffs. This is one of the 100s of pictures we took along this short hike. Perched on this bluff was a nesting seagull and the flowers were blooming along the entire coast. #Nature #Trovember

Deep blue sea blue sky, crashing waves... Pacific coastal route .... A beautiful journey
New bridge now open along the Big Sur . Now able to travel for 50 miles but still not able to travel the whole length , you have to return the same way , still worth the effort , treat it as a day trip not a road to get further south .
Rocky Ridge Trail, located in Garrapata State Park, is a quick hike that ascends about 1800 feet over the Highway 1 coastline. The vegetation and foliage along the trail are beachy and ambrosial. Once you emerge through the inevitable fog bank near the top of the hill, the views of Big Sur are spectacular.
