The fusion of landscapes where the French Alps meet Provence is something special. Ancient rocky outcrops rise out of the ground offering breath-taking views of the patchwork fields below. An abundance of walk trails wind through the region but are not for the faint-hearted. Often relentlessly steep and remote, a bit of pre-planning and plenty of time to explore would be advantageous.

Take the winding back roads from Vaison-la-Romaine through to Valreas in the Cote de Rhone. You won't be disappointed by the views of lavender, vines and orchards. As well as quaint old villages. My favourite hilltop town was Grignan.

We were very happy with the hotel. The staff, especially Natalie, was very friendly and helpful. The room was quite big, there was an empty space between the bedroom and the bathroom that didn’t really make sense, as there was nothing in it, but overall the rooms were clean and nice. The location was also very good, with the metro just a few steps away. We will definitely come back!!
