This is a very good apartment to stay in Paris. It is very convenient to Metro (subway) and trains, being less than 10 mins walk to the Gare de Lyon and about 15-20 mins walk to the Gare d'Austerlitz. As others have noted, the apartment is spacious, whether it's two travelers or a family, and has good natural light, which makes it very cheerful. The water pressure is good in both bathrooms. Veronique is a wonderful owner who was very helpful and very good with communication. Below are some practical tips that will help you:
--Place d'Aligre, which is about 10-15 mins walk, has a market with vendors who sell fish, meat, vegetables, fruit, and cheese. It is open everyday except Monday (closes mid-afternoon Sunday.) There is also a farmers market there on some days. We shopped there for our groceries and cheese.
--two good neighborhood patisseries are near the Gare de Lyon. One is called Eric Kayser and the other is Mon Père était Boulanger on Rue De Lyon, near the Monoprix (general store).
---when exiting Metro at the Gare de Lyon, the closest exit to the apartment building is Exit 3, Rue Michel Chasles. This is not available from all Metro lines.
--If you are staying for a week, it's very economical to purchase a Navigo Decouverte pass at the Gare de Lyon for rides on Metro, buses, and some trains. You will need a small photo.
--If you need a taxi, walk over to the taxi stand at the Gare de Lyon and get one to come to the apartment building with you.
--In June, when I came home in the evening, I would open the windows to let in the fresh air, and that would cool the apartment.
Best wishes for your stay in Paris!
