My recent stay at a Parisian apartment booked for a birthday weekend turned out to be a nightmare rather than a celebration. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was dampened, quite literally, by the pervasive moisture that seemed to seep into every corner of the space. The accommodation felt more like a forgotten cellar than a cozy retreat in the heart of Paris.Firstly, the dampness in the room was unbearable. The musty odor permeated everything, making it challenging to even breathe comfortably. It was evident that the apartment had some serious moisture issues, which not only affected our comfort but also posed potential health risks.Adding to the discomfort was the complete lack of lighting in the stairwell. Navigating the narrow staircase in near darkness was not only hazardous but also unnerving. It felt like a safety hazard waiting to happen, especially after a long day of exploring the city. Furthermore, the noise levels were beyond unacceptable. When we received the rules we were advised of the noise levels, pretty much warned prior to even getting into the apartment to keep the noise levels down! But much to the contrary of the notice provided to us, there was no mention of the noise from nearby restaurants and the neighbours that made it impossible to get a moment of peace and quiet.
