Perfect base
We booked the Rookery for my in-laws to stay at the weekend we got married. It was a perfect base for them with a great location near the beach. Eric was a superb host. Would definitely recommend.

Peace and Quiet
We loved the close proximity to the beach, which is our happy place. Also the privacy. It was a much needed rest for us, after moving countries and in transition between cultures, with all the upheaval 1 month after arriving. The hosts thought of all the wee extras which was lovely: Thank you so much to Eric and Linda. This wee break was very much needed by two weary persons.

Pleasant stay at the Rookery
We had a friendly and welcoming greeting on arrival with some tasty complementary camembert. The accommodation has a large private patio and is surrounded by trees and farmland with a good view of the sky and stars at night, the beach a 5 minute walk away, we had a pleasant stay away from the city

Another lovely stay. A warm welcome and a warm stay in the cold weather. Close to the beach which allowed for delightful walks at sunset.Everything is justcas described. Such a nice place to stay.

Peaceful accommodation near the beach
We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in this peaceful location near the beach. The accommodation is comfortable and private. We loved walking on the beach, the cafe at Harrison's Country Gardenworld, and the easy drive to the many attractions around the Kapiti coast and in Wellington. Would stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was just as described. Eric and Linda were warm and hospitable. There were many thoughtful touches in the way they had prepared the property. The gardens were lovely. Easy to find and a lovely location - so beautiful

Lovely stay!
We had a fabulous time staying here with Erik and Linda. Such lovely hosts a great wee spot not far from the beach. The studio is comfortable and has everything you need. Highly reccomended!

Great stay at the Rookery!
We loved our stay at The Rookery. Eric greeted us with such a warm and bright welcome. The cheese and fruit platter on our arrival was a special personal touch. This place is such a relaxing, cosy and well organised accommodation space with everything we needed for a great stay. We just loved how close The Rookery is to the Peka Peka Beach - what a stunning beach. It's only an a short drive to the train station to take a train to Wellington. What more could you want! Thank you for a lovely stay in your little piece of paradise. We had a great time and made special family memories.

Rookery Retreat
Eric is an absolutely wonderful & accomodating host. While the accomodation is not the Ritz it is delightfully clean and comfortable while being privately separated from the house. The beach is moments away and the bird life is amazing . We were very happy with our stay - well done Eric.

Nice property, nice host!
The property is very comfortable, we only stayed for a couple of nights to get over our flight from the UK. It was just what we wanted and Eric is a marvellous host. We will definitely be doing just the same next time that we’re visiting our daughter and family here in New Zealand. An enjoyable stay, thank you Eric.

Great location only 200 yards from the beach. Eric was superb in getting me information and helping me when there was a problem with a different part of my trip. He was very sociable and even drew me a map to get to the center of town, where the good restaurants were.

We pitched up on a wet day, Eric was in his barn with a warm welcome a beer and friendly conversation. We slept really well and only stayed one night, but what a wonderful little gem of a place.

Eric and Linda were wonderful hosts! They made us feel very welcome and we look forward to staying with them when we are in NZ the next time. Very enjoyable stay, and super nice host
Our host, Eric, was super nice, welcoming, and attentive. The place is nice and comfortable. Short walk to the beach. We were not able to connect to wifi, but I believe that that issue may be resolved for future guests.
