« Great location with lots of privacy. Small but comfortable with everthing needed to have a great stay. The host was pleasant and attentive and checking in and out couldn't have been easier. Will definitely return in the future, thank you. »

« Management was intrusive and knocked on our door loudly asking to come in and look for a lost key from the previous tenant. That should have been handled before we were given the room. After a long drive, this was the last thing we wanted to deal with. I let it slide because I was exhausted, but the experience was unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend staying here — look elsewhere »

« It is hard to imagine a better hotel to stay in for your Gold Country vacation. This is a historic property in the heart of old Grass Valley. The property is very well kept up - possibly even beyond its original splendor. The on site restaurant is probably the best in the area - - we tried several, but none were as good as The Golden Gate Saloon (full bar, lunch and dinner). « Maybe the mistake was booking one of the cabins instead of a regular room. The first indicator that there would be cleanliness issues started before we even walked in the door of the room. A q-tip and a couple pieces of trash laid right out side the door. The room initially looked cute enough, dated, but cute. All the windows and sliding door were open upon entering which we quickly found out was absolutely necessary to air the strong scent of wet dog in the room that lingered our entire stay....
