To Whom It May Concern,It took me several days to compose this message because of how disappointing and heartbreaking our experience was at the VRBO property we rented for one night.This stay was intended to be my adult children’s Christmas gift—a rare opportunity for our entire family to spend one full night together, traveling from different locations due to work obligations. When I first walked into the house, I immediately wanted to leave. Unfortunately, after everyone had arrived, my children encouraged us to stay and try to make the best of the situation.The property was in severe disrepair and did not reflect the listing photos in any way. The following issues were present:The pool was not heated, and there was no clear disclosure that advance notice was requiredThe hot tub had visible scum; I attempted to clean it myself so my family could use itA large ashtray full of old cigarette butts was present in a “non-smoking” homeThe putting area was unusable—one hole was broken and the ping pong balls were damagedCornhole boards were broken with only two sun-rotted bags availableThe casita smelled strongly of a prior water leak, with visible water stains running down the wallDryer lint trap was completely full, indicating a lack of basic cleaning and safety checksPropane heater did not work until my husband replaced the propane tank himselfBroken outdoor chairs were covered with pool floatsOverall cleanliness and maintenance were unacceptable
