We chose this hotel for its beautiful location, privacy & space. The restaurant looked refurbished & had a really good menu choice. The ease of grabbing a coffee from the adjoining coffee shop was a bonus. Staff were ever so helpful & housekeepers so thorough. Loved the welcome from the security guards at the gate on entry & exit. Unfortunately the bed was a huge let down. Very uncomfortable & in desperate need of replacement, two long singles pushed together with no mattress topper made for an aching body the next morning.

Hotel de siempre, ubicado frente a la playa (aunque no se pueda ir por temas de seguridad). Este hotel es de los primeros en Port Moresby, y en España equivaldría a un 2-3 estrellas maximo. El personal inutil, pero como en todos lados por aqui.

Paid a room for what was advertised online but the beds weren't separated when we requested. As usual only 1 towel was supplied. No sugar n milk in the minibar🙄 Location is close to the beachfront. Rooms are clean but verandah was not use-able because the floor had water everywhere and was dangerous to step out to enjoy some fresh air. Enzo's pizza was ok and the restaurant was nice to have a quick kai.

Hotel incapable of handing bookings through agents
Horrible hotel. Even though it was a pre-paid booking on my end, hotel staff insisted that it could not charge the virtual credit card that hotels.com provided. I was harassed multiple times, and was asked to contact hotels.com customer service from my end. Even after the misunderstanding was resolved, the hotel manager showed no sign of apology. I had stayed at this hotel multiple times in the past, but it seems that the new management of this hotel has no interest in customer service. I cannot recommend this hotel through this website or any agent, since the staff here do not have the capacity to process bookings through agents.

The room was nice and the pool and gym good. But what was very disappointing was that there was no warning that the restaurant was closed for renovations and there was no way for guests to get food - even room service - at the hotel. The instruction was to go to The Crown Hotel a kilometre away and eat there. That is not so easy at night in Port Moresby for security-conscious guests without transport. It was a surprise to me that a hotel charging premium rates made no provision for even a limited room-service menu when the restaurant was closed.

Wifi was slow. Had to go buy premium fast data bundle still my zoom meeting freezed a lot. Toilet was fixed during my stay and wasn't able to use the toilet for 4 hours was frustrating.

It was a very convenient place to say for my purposes - which were to catch up with places and friends in Moresby after many years of not having been here. Unfortunely the authorities have wrecked the formerly attractive Ela Beach (not a fault the hotel of course).

web info does not match reality. "Deluxe" room is very basic, view was not of beach but of a roof and wall a few feet from a window so dirty at first I thought it was opaque glass. Carpet sticky and chair cushion stained. Complimentary move (after 3 requests for a different room) was to a "suite" which was a big bedroom, not a bedroom and additional room commonly understood as meaning a suite. Towels were sticky, maybe not fully rinsed? Nice balcony once I covered the vert wet cushion on the balcony furniture. Beach view is next to main road and noisy if on balcony. Restaurant ok.

The room I got on expedia is not the one in the picture its actually a smaller one hidden at the back away from the view. The room service is terrible.

Experience depends very much on the room -- some are excellent, some are newly renovated but small, some have views, some don't The staff, including the security staff, are very friendly and helpful!

Good stay indeed. I really loved it. It was really nice to be there. Perharps the house keeping could be much more organized if the staff are made to have a checklist every time they clean. They often forget to do many important things.

The service was poor, no towels delivered for two days, staff didn't care, paid for king bed got two double beds, paid for breakfast in deal didn't get had to pay. Took for ever to get meals but they were nice, overall never stay again.

Disappointing visit to Ela Beach Hotel
Second visit to Ela Beach was not as good as the first. The roadworks our the front made it difficult to get into the hotel. The lift wasn’t working either were the main bathroom lights in my room. Finally, the amount of mosquitos in my room was enough to put me off returning.

Good value
The management could not be nicer. Rooms are spotless and very comfortable. There are 2 pools and a good (not great) restaurant. there is a large road and parking area between the new beach and conference center. So it is not a beach hotel ..you see the sea but are not ON the beach. Far from airport. I was very happy with my stay thanks to the very sweet staff.

I have had pleasant stays before. However, the service and hotel is unpredictable. The staff were friendly and pleasant. The room deluxe set-up is fine for a single person but could be a bit small for two people. The room appeared clean, but there were used towels in the bathroom and no toiletries/soap made be question the cleanliness. The king bed is two twins pushed together and was quite uneven. Consequently I had a poor night sleep. The room service took excruciatingly long and the food was inedible. If it had not been past 8pm by the time dinner arrived, I would have sent the food back.
