Grazioso albergo in ristrutturazione

Quando siamo arrivati nell'albergo abbiamo trovato qualche piccolo lavoro, dovuto al fatto che l'albergo era da poco accorpato all'altro resort Cariblue. Inoltre c'era cattivo odore nei bagni. A parte questo l'albergo è carino e la posizione di fronte al mare molto piacevole. Il ristorante è esteticamente molto bello, ma la qualità del cibo sotto le aspettative.

Lindo lugar a magnifico precio. Tranquilo y bien situado. Habitaciones limpias y decoradas con muy buen gusto. Volveremos seguro.

Just what we needed to have a GREAT VACATION!!!

-The room looked just like the pics. When we arrived to our Jr. Suite our room was clean, fridge cold and so was the A/C! Huge shower with two sinks. Plenty of counter space and a little shelf for all your toiletries, etc. Which was a big plus when u have girls sharing a bathroom. The bed was comfy. I really liked the fact that beside the bed was a little shelf and it had light switches. -One of the great things about the rooms here is that you could not hear the other guests. Our room was close to all conveniences of the hotel (pool, restaurant, reception and exit). -Breakfast had a number of buffet options. I LOVED the banana pancakes! The pool was perfect for when the beach was a bit too sunny. It was clean & nicely decorated. -The rooms were cleaned everyday and they always did a fantastic job. Sometimes there were insects around or in the room. Its the carribean, you have to expect bugs. -Big Plus for the hotel having a security guard patrolling every night around seven pm or so. Plus, they close the gate around nine pm so only the guard can let you in. This was great! -They were ALL more than willing to offer directions, call you a taxi or answer any other questions you may have. I liked the fact that they werent constantly in your face. They were there when we needed them. Of all the staff, the Italian Manager was our favorite. He was very helpful & went above & beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. THANK YOU & we cant wait to return to Totem Hotel

המלון במיקום מעולה - ממש מול החוף הכי שווה באיזור..איזור קוקלס. הצוות נחמד, האוכל סבבה החדרים בסדר גמור ביחס לאיזור ולמתחרים ובכלל שווה את הכסף. הבעיה היחידה? זרם מים שווה ל..!!!

Affordable & good location.

My wife & I stayed two nights with another couple that were celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. We enjoyed each day at nearby attractions and enjoyed the nightlife at a town about 1 mile north.

Nice hotel in front of the Cocles beach

It was the only hotel with AC in the area, we were happy about the staff service and the accomodation ( furniture in bamboo, hot water). We did not use the swimming pool and the jacuzzi as we prefered to go directly to the beach. The breakfast was a buffet with eggs, gallo pinto (local speciality made of rice and beans) pancakes and cakes. Staff was helpful.

Close to the beach

This hotel is in a great location, positioned right across the street from a wonderful beach in Puerto Viejo. The hotel itself is ok. It could use some upkeep as the grounds are pretty overgrown and the rooms just so-so. It does have a restaurant, which is convenient because it is over a mile from town. But, I wouldn't rave about the food there or the service of either. The main problem for me was that the hotel leaves bright lights on all night long in the courtyards and they stream into your bedroom so it is hard to sleep. The rooms are typical for CR and do not afford very comfortable beds or much luxury. So, for the price, it just depends on what you are looking for. I think there may be better options in town that are also close to a beach. And previous ratings of this hotel may have been from a time when the hotel had more to offer than just location.

Great location right on the beach

This hotel was awesome. Great location right on the beach, all of the hotel staff were very friendly, and they were great about keeping our room clean and switching out the linens.

Ottimo hotel per una vacanza speciale

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo ottimo hotel di fronte al mare, in una stanza spaziosa a due passi dal ristorante e lo suggeriamo a chi deve recarsi in questa zona. L'albergo è gestito da italiani ed è ideale per chi vuole dedicarsi al surf.

Great Getaway

Hotel was amazing and gorgeous, not so far where the actual town is. it's a great get away staff treats you great!! Also it is literally right in front of the beach, hearing the ocean waves at night and early Morning is so soothing. You can rent a bike, learn to surf (I did not do since I traveled with a 7yr old by myself) and they can call up recreation you'll like , which I went snorkeling and hiking in Cahuita, I highly recommend!!

Very hard to work with and rude staff

The staff was rude and very difficult to work with. We stayed in Costa Rica for 12 nights and made 8 different hotels we had reserved every single one of them besides the Totem Beach Resort was very accommodating. Choosing the Totem Beach Resort was by far the worst experience we had in Costa Rica.

Good value good location for exploring Costa Rica

Great value well run across from the beach. It is not luxury but very nice for the price and they are very helpful om anything you could request. They helped us set up a fabulous set of fun excursions and the zipline was the best for sure. There are no mega hotels down in this neck of the woods so they are all family units but we had AC and nice size suite and all was good. This is not the hotel for silence and sleeping in it is a base for exploration. we loved it.

Ok but a bit rustic

Maybe is was because we just came from a m uch higher end and brighly decorated resort just down the road, but the Totem appeared comparatively dark and dingie. But it was right accrosss the street from a bueatiful and popular beach and the staff was very nice.

Great vacation!

My friend and I stayed in a suite, it was right at the pool and closest to the ocean. Great room and location. Breakfast was nice every morning, a good variety. We would walk into town, which would be about 20 minutes or so, but you could rent a bike or a taxi too. We preferred the aspect of being off the beaten path than rushing back into town.
