We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property. It is in a great location with lots to do in immediate stratobowl area with various hiking trails and a creek with a swimming hole which our kids really enjoyed kayaking in. The house was very nice and clean with beautiful views of the canyon and creek. Ken was wonderful and very hospitable; he gave us an introduction to the house and the surrounding area on the first day we arrived which was much appreciated. We definitely would love to come back again!

This was our first time in the Black Hills and staying at Ken’s was by far one of the coolest places we have stayed. Not only does Ken make you feel at home, he shares his beautiful property for us to explore. Stratobowl is historically fascinating and stunningly beautiful. We enjoyed being close to Rapid City, Mount Rushmore, all the hikes and scenic drives around Custer States and coming back to the house to enjoy the decks overlooking the rim. We only used the upstairs beds and they are very comfortable!

Beautiful, clean and comfortable home. We loved our stay here while exploring the Black Hills area. There was plenty of room for the seven of us. We enjoyed the stars in the beautiful night sky. We saw bighorn sheep up on the cliff above the stratobowl while we were on the deck.

We had an amazing time staying a few days at the cabin. After being in tighter accommodations along a road trip with our kids this was exactly what we all needed. The cabin is great and well appointed with everything you need, and the views are fantastic from every deck or porch on the place. We intend to return again in the future for a longer stay. There is so much to see and do in the area and this is a great place to serve as base camp for that.

Wonderful secluded home!!

Every one of us enjoyed the whole property. Tons a hiking right by the house. A swimming hole that can be enjoyed! We all had wished we could have stayed at the house longer. House was clean and spacious for us 6 adults. We absolutely would stay here again! Ken was so nice when we arrived he gave us a tour of the whole property and walked us through the trail hiking map he offered. Such a genuine and kind person!

Little waterfall hike on property was about 15-20 minutes from the front door to the falls.

Super location

Peaceful Family Getaway

This place was absolutely amazing! We enjoyed the peaceful setting, our children loved swimming in the swimming pond! We had fun hiking on all the different hikes on the property. The owner was so kind and helpful! Our whole family was sad to leave, this place is truly special! We definitely hope to come back and stay again!

A beautiful retreat!

We can’t say enough how much we loved staying at this property. It was the perfect size for our family of 6. So clean, attractive and with all the odds and ends we needed to make it our home for a week. And the setting amongst the mountains and stream were breathtaking. We were in great hands with the owners! They were very helpful and accommodating! We’ll be back again in the future!

Paradise in the Black Hills

This house is the perfect location for a Black Hills vacation. You are 20 minutes from Keystone/Mount Rushmore/Hill City, about 40 minutes to Custer State Park, 30 minutes from the Needles Highway, and about 75 minutes to Deadwood or Spearfish Canyon. Also, Rapid City is only 20-25 minutes away.House is located in a small canyon, minutes away from Spring Creek. There are hiking trails right out your door. Main bedroom has a VERY comfortable king bed!!Ken is the best host ... lots of history in the area.

Nature Made

This was the most serene and relaxing place we have ever stayed in a listed place. The description was perfect in saying it was a secluded cabin. The surrounding area of cliffs and woods offered so much peace. Any season would be so inviting. Ken was an exceptional host and very hospitable in showing us around the acreage and the history behind it!!

Magical Week

The drive into the property is pure eye candy, the 5 boys saw a deer as we approached the house! Hiking, Swimming in the pond, allowing us the use of the Kayaks and life vests!! Just the best host ever. There are certainly enough blankets, pillows and towels for any big family. We loved seeing the little chipmunks each morning and the star filled sky each night. I could not have picked a better place to bring my family to enjoy such a beautiful vacation. Thank you so very much

Great views and hikes, super quiet

We stayed at the house much more than we anticipated because we were surrounded by so much beauty and cleared hiking paths. The host was friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful trip and anticipate returning if we come back to the area! The house had everything we needed for a family of four.

Beautiful Property

The location of this property is absolutely beautiful! Loved sitting on the decks and watching a momma deer and her two babies and listening to the sound of the running creek was so peaceful. Perfect Relaxing Family Spot

This property and host are amazing! We enjoyed sitting on the decks listening to the creek, watching animals wander along the creek, hiking the property's trails, and swimming at the swimming hole. Stunning views, relaxing atmosphere

Our family could not have been more comfortable and felt this whole area was perfect to escape and just enjoy eachother's company. The hosts were so welcoming and had everything taken care of! There is access to hiking that is so beautiful, and it is easy access to all the local adventures. There was easy access to everything while also feeling that you had total privacy in gorgeous natural surroundings!
