Amazing property! Absolute gorgeous location and adorably rustic house. The property was clean and had everything we needed. Our only disappointment was not being able to use the pellet stove as it was out of season.

Overall a good property to stay in and recommended.Pros:- Very private and peaceful - super quiet.- Situated in the valley amid farms giving a rural atmosphere.- Beautiful views down the valley to Ouray.- Great location between Ouray and Ridgway.- Kitchen well stocked.- Very nicely furnished and decorated.- Beds were comfortable.- VRC management company was excellent and very responsive.- Good Verizon cell coverage.Cons:- Wifi was pretty slow at 7-8MB up/down over satellite and sometimes dropped to 2-3MB. We had no problems with our Apple TV but computer Wifi was slow and had issues at times.- We visited for two weeks in July and the temps hit the lower 90s and the up stairs bedroom was just too hot to sleep in (never cooled off).- No A/C except for a very small unit in the upstairs bedroom which really couldn't cool the space.- You can smell cows from time to time.- The blender would not work but VRC replaced it same day.- The coffee maker carafe was missing (glad we brought our own coffee maker).- The BBQ only had one row of burners that was working and it would not get hot enough to grill. The owner came by and worked on it but we did not try it again.- Mosquitos: the irrigated pastures produced a LOT of the buggers.- Kitchen is somewhat small and challenging it you intend to do a lot of cooking.- Windows on the north side of the house were very dirty.

Peaceful home close to town

Great location close to Ouray. Perfect rural setting off the beaten path. Arrived after dark, had hard time finding the house. Communication was outstanding and helped us with navigation. Highly recommend this beautiful peaceful home.

Great time overall!

Cabin was everything we were led to believe; clean, well equipped, and great location! Squeaky floors reminded me of the floors in my home as a kid 80 years ago! Loved it!!! Everyone associated with the rental and cabin itself were great and extremely caring and personable! Weather and foliage colors were wonderful! Highly recommend renting the cabin and time of year for a great vacation!

Great time near Ridgeway

My family and I stayed at the cabin during the week of my daughter's wedding at Ridgeway State Park. The facility met all of our needs and then some. It is very quiet and somewhat isolated which is what we were looking for. It is an older home that has been renovated very nicely. The upstairs bathroom is awesome and there is also a cool little balcony off the bedroom. You can get the feel of the older home as the floors creak a little bit which was kind of nice. All in all, this was an excellent choice for us.

Home away from home

This cabin was nice, cozy, and comfortable. We stayed here with our daughter and son in law. There were plenty of cooking pots and pans and cooking utensils. The only drawback was there is no air conditioning. But, we made it pretty good since we were gone most of the day and it got cooler at night. Overall, we had a good week at this cabin. I would recommend this cabin. We loved being out further in the country

Great location

The home is in a great and quiet spot halfway between Ouray and Ridgway. The home was clean and well appointed. Very peaceful. We had a couple of issues which when pointed out were quickly addressed and that was so appreciated. As previous reviewers have stated it is a warm home and a very hot summer, and there is a slight sewer smell mostly prevalent at night. But honestly not a huge deal. Overall if you asked me if I would stay there again, I would! Beautiful part of the state and such a pretty location. Saw many fawns around the property, Appreciate the owners sharing it with us.

This was a great place to stay. It was cute, clean & away from the hustle & bustle. Seeing the deer & elk in your backyard was an added bonus. We would recommend this place to anyone heading to the Ouray Area.

Ridgeway Retreat

We have been staying in vacation rentals for several years, in America and in Europe. This is by far our favorite. The location is breathtaking, the cabin is cozy, plenty of hot water, the beds are super comfortable, the owner was very friendly, check in and out super easy. It is THE cleanest place we have ever stayed. It is super close to both Ridgeway and Ouray and a short lovely drive to Telluride. If visiting in summer, just be sure to bring bug spray as those mosquitoes are fierce! We are already planning on renting this cabin again in the winter.

Nice and Peaceful

We enjoyed our stay here. We chose the location because we wanted to be outside of town where it was a bit more quiet. The property was very clean and had everything available that we needed. There were a couple of minor things we needed to contact the property management about, and they were quick to respond each time.

Family trip

Beautiful valley cabin

We loved our stay at the cabin. It was built in the 1940's, but thoughtfully updated with all the modern conveniences. It was fun to meet Gary, and get some history about the area. The cabin is surrounded by open land that we were able to explore. My daughter saw a fawn nursing outside her bedroom window. The cabin had a kitchen that was well stocked with utensils, pans, dishes and small appliances. It was truly a home away from home. Would definitely stay again!'
