Excellent Hospitality Coordinator at the Bar: Joe! Wonderful Mother's Day brunch and rooftop bar which was the best position in the City to see the Northern Lights Staff very professional and excellent service everywhere!

I lived in the area around the Strathallan for about 15 years, so it's nice to be able to stay in my old neighborhood when I visit Rochester. This is a great home base. It was quiet, clean, and the staff was excellent. I also loved that my room had a private balcony.

I only come for the balcony. Otherwise the hotel has fallen ALL THE WAY off and is grossly overpriced for the deterioration that's taking place. Furniture old and dirty, walls with tape to cover scuffs and paint chips, walls and drapes dirty and stained, dusty, room smelled stuffy, etc. I checked in on Wednesday night. Dude was rude. Thursday night dude was nice..

Overall ok…was disappointed they got rid of the pool and expanded their gym. They only mentioned the expanded gym, but not the pool being gone. Kinda messed up our stay.

The pool was removed a couple of months ago and the gym was just built so I do apologize that no one mentioned it to you. We are currently working on property renovations and the pool was something we had to get rid of unfortunately. We hope you'll consider returning in the future when everything is completed.

What a fantastic location! The neighborhood was so beautiful. Convenient walk to many destinations, such as the art museum and theater for a concert. Excellent dining nearby, as well. Highly recommended! We will stay here again.

I really loved the location of the hotel, on-site free parking, a very friendly check-in process and the suite was very lovely. Unfortunately, what looked to be a comfortable bed, was anything but. My young son and I shared it and we both had one of the worst nights of sleep. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The bedding was hard and stiff - so much so that it poked us so much during the night, which kept waking us up. Also, our room was right next to the elevators and the noise from it was extremely loud all night long. I would love to say I would stay again because everything else about the hotel was great, but not getting a good night of sleep is enough for me to look elsewhere for our next visit, which will be in a few months.

The Strathallan is a beautiful hotel in one of the loveliest neighborhoods in Rochester. One notices the front desk staff first and theirs was friendly and welcoming and clearly efficient. The room was clean and decently sized. The gym was lacking in some of the normal things like mats and bands.

We were so disappointed when we checked in to learn that the pool has been closed for some time with no reopening plan in the near future. The website still stays the pool is open and we had to manage the disappointment with the kids. This isn’t acceptable since we selected this hotel because of the pool. When we asked how this situation could be resolved the person at check in said there was nothing as we booked via Expedia. Urg.
