Walking into the lobby I was asked if having tv was important as they are changing companies - asked if they had Wi-Fi (yes) so I could use my iPad to watch programming - didn’t mention only one device per room is allowed Wi-Fi access. Ice machine is broken but was given ice from private quarters. Room has fridge which is old and has rust on the outside of the door. There is a light switch inside the door but I don’t know what it works so room was dark upon entering. Clock and bedside lamps weren’t plugged in - clock cord is damaged. Bathroom has mold around tub and fixed mat inside tub is dirty. Doorframe on bathroom is peeling paint and rusting. Paint on walls is chipped. Bathtub doesn’t drain well. Only positive so far is that about half of the towels seem new.

First on TV second the toilet wasn't working right the lid on the toilet was broken in two trash on the floor and melted chocolate in the bottom of the microwave and cracked on the outside of it

So, you get what you pay for. Very inexpensive and yet clean. Beds so- so. Noisy from the highway and our toilet was not seated well so it would rock.

The hotel smelled horrible. The ice machine did not work. The juice machine did not work. The room was grimy. The curtains were filthy. The room needed to be scrubbed from top to bottom. I would not recommend staying here.

The first thing I noticed is that it has no way of getting to the rooms unless you use the stairs and I was told there’s no elevator or ground level access. The room was dirty and smelled of stale smoke.

Would NOT recommend!
Very old hotel with old rooms in need of major improvement! The recliner had rips and tears with stuffing coming out and the tub in the shower had mildew in the bottom. The shower curtain rod was almost falling off the wall. This hotel allows animals, which is fine unless they bark for hours when their owners are gone! We contacted the front desk and they couldn’t find the owner. We packed up at 2:30am and left! You get what you pay for!

There are not a lot of options in Salem. It was very convenient to our travel. Applebees was across the parking lot which we had for supper. It was delicious. The hotel looked good on the outside. Looked like it was freshly painted and lobby was homey. The hotel and furniture is old and dated. Mold in bathroom under linoleum, chair needed cleaned. Otherwise it seemed clean just out of date. Bed was very comfortable. Just an old hotel. If you want a nicer hotel in Salem you’ll pay at least an extra $100 a night!

The property has done some renovation. It was clean, easy to park, very helpful staff and a comfortable though a bit dated, room. Very close to dining options, breakfast is limited though it was good and easy to use.
