Its historic past creates a scenic playground filled with lots of interesting features such as the multitude of stone walls, chapel and more. We’re glad you had a great visit!

Sir, while we’re glad you could list all the wonderful aspects of this property and even mentioned the antiquity of some of the buildings, did you not consider that ranches are added to over time and sometimes without obvious logic? That’s why the buildings are not nicely grouped for your convenience. I’m sorry you felt you had to detract a star for conditions beyond out control. Buildings and pool being all within 30 to at most 100’ of each other and all the facilities doesn’t seem particularly “spread out” to us. Thank you for a generally glowing and kind review. I’m sorry we disappointed you in any way. Unlike a planned property laid out perfectly, the buildings and terrain were established when we bought this ranch and no one has ever complained regarding these aspects. They realized the slopes were due to the TX hill country natural terrain plus historic ranches have buildings wherever previous owners situated them. I’m glad you found the ranch beautiful and glad your graduation party was a success! We loved having you as our guests and would happily welcome you again. Sandy

I was sad to read your review; we have had so many happy guests. Knowing you had family fly here from Africa and Switzerland as well as the DC area and places in Texas so you could all be together then seeing your focus on all of the negatives of your stay rather than the joy of being all together made me sad. You missed so much joy by the wrong focus. Some of your statements are blatantly false. The toilet was not plugged when you arrived and we’d had no problems with it. We had a plumber here in short order and he repaired the toilet. The slow draining sink was also quickly repaired as was the lamp without a bulb and the pool cue tips that had been knocked off. Many of the other complaints have little substance to them. You stayed in housing that is old. This is a historic ranch and buildings range from 150-65 years old. We show pictures of everything very honestly in the VRBO listing. This was your first time staying in a VRBO and your expectations were unrealistic. Had you stayed in others, you would have known we furnish so many amenities others do not. Every member of your family was friendly and lovely and enjoyed being reunited and spending time here together. You are the lone unhappy curmudgeonly exception.
