Everything was just as described, the property managers were excellent and very responsive. My stepson accidentally knocked a towel rack off the wall and they had someone out to fix it right away. We had a full size car and I would recommend having a smaller car, the fill size fit in the space, but it was a tight fit. I would absolutely rent this place again with zero hesitation.
We booked this apartment last minute to do something for spring break with the kids.
The apartment is small however it was the only place with 3 beds for our family of 4. The apartment is on the Bayside in the alleys next to a rundown motel, so there is a lot of noise from cars and trucks driving through during the day. Their isn't a view from the apartment, so you have to be out and about if you want to enjoy the beach or bay views but it is walkable and close to everything which was great! The unit also has parking so that was a plus, and it fit our midsize SUV with a cargo rack on top. Check in was easy. We did reach out to the property manager the first day for some light bulbs for the outdoor patio and front door light fixture, but he never showed up or texted us to give an update. Luckily we brought some flashlights to use so we could bbq in the patio. Overall, it was comfortable and quaint.
Two days before our arrival (I had paid in full by this time) I received a notification that I had to upload a government ID. When I inquired about this (I've never had to this for a rental before), I was told it "helpful to avoid fraud and made for an easier check in process." I think that I'M the one that should be concerned about fraud as they're asking for a copy of my government ID and they aren't government officials.
My first thought when arriving was "Wow- they really know how to work a wide angle lens." This apartment is super tiny and each room is very broken up. The kitchen and bathroom are also pretty outdated. In addition, there is VERY little outdoor space on the ground floor to chill out. The perks- great location- but every home in Mission Beach is in a great location. The beds are comfy and the rooms are dark and quiet. There is a great rooftop deck but you have to climb 2 flights to get there and it's shared with other apartments. I think you could find a better place for your money.
