30A is a quaint peaceful area. The bungalow neighborhood fit well with the local vibe. The pool/hot tub/grounds are well maintained. The bungalow is an easy walk to a gorgeous slice (about 50 feet wide) of public beach. If you want to access a larger public beach, you'll need to drive and park .5 miles west on 30A to haul your stuff. The closest access, across the street from a Tom Thumb, is well maintained and has a shower station and stairs down to the beach. There are no restrooms. A man named "J.T.," who has lived on this slice of beach for 17 years, was very helpful and friendly. I found him intriguing. His cat Carrot has 1,800 followers on Instagram. :) The unit is thoughtfully decorated and stocked with three 55" roku TVs and ample programming. The king room is a tad cramped, but works. You can tell someone really put some time into decorating the unit. With the exception of the couch, we found it clean and adorable. (The couch is a dark navy and hasn't been cleaned properly following spills of white substances. It felt a little gross to sit on it in the middle of a pandemic.) Unfortunately, the outside of the unit with its faded, mildewed, and mismatched outdoor chairs and bisted door shutters leaves a questionable first impression and detracts from the inside. I had my inlaws with me and was a little embarrassed by this. Parking was fantastic. Access to the neighborhood and unit was great. The bungalow does sit over brackish-type spill-over lake water, as do some of the others in the complex. No mosquitoes though. The unit was well stocked with multiple drink pitchers (for tea, etc.), a blender, plenty of cookware, nice dishes, and good knives. No spices or staples of any kind were provided. Ice maker was a good one. Two beach chairs were there for use. No umbrella. Dishwasher pods and ample toilet paper were provided, but only one load worth of laundry detergent. There were plenty of clean towels for a week's stay. Check-in and checkout instructions were a breeze. Overall, I was pleased. I wish the outdoor furniture had been suitable and the cleaning service had cared enough to spot clean the couch. (I realize that's asking too much in this day and age.) Also, when I stripped the sheets. I noticed the waterproof mattress pad had been placed plastic side up, which explained why I couldn't get comfortable at night...grrr. Another cleaning service trick to cut down on laundry I'm sure.
