We booked for 3 days and ended extending for a total of 8 days. The owner, Amber is an expat from the US and is very friendly. She knows the area and helped make our vacation amazing. Her office staff, Gabriel and Maria Jose are bilingual and friendly as well.
The hotel is an older one. The pictures online are accurate. Amber purchased the hotel a year ago and has been working on updates. The rooms are located around a central pool. The location is near everything you probably came to Playa del Cocos for- a block from the beach and a block from the main road with multiple restaurants, nightlife, and shopping choices. There was some music noise on Friday and Saturday night but honestly we didn't hear it over the AC in our room. There is a gate and friendly night time security guard. Free daily breakfast was typical Tico beans and rice, fresh fruit, pastries, fresh juice and coffee.
One minor negative, and this was true for other hotels and apparently for Costa Rica in general, is that the beds have the softness of a good quality cardboard. Amber did work with us to find the best mattress she had available for our stay.
We initially picked our hotel based on location and price but Amber and the service is what made us want to stay longer.
