We were disappointed to find no hot water upon our arrival on 12/26. A plumber came on 12/27 and found it to be an electrical problem. On 12/28 an electrician came. He had trouble accessing the hot water heater because the management company gave him the wrong access code. Nevertheless, our group left for the day and upon our return the hot water issue had been resolved. Why did this happen? Why didnât the management company check before we arrived? There were 7 of us, including 2 small children, with no hot water to clean ourselves or dishes. A residence without hot water is not considered habitable under most health codes. We therefore request a refund for the duration that we were without hot waterâtwo days.
Property management communication was quick. Unfortunately the house wasnât very clean, roaches which we reported (have video). Only 6 forks for a 9 guest house which we discovered when we were ready to eat dinner. House is laid out odd you have to go through other bedrooms to reach living area unless you go outside. Beds were comfortable. Would not stay there again.
Location was great, close enough to walk to most places. Parking was excellent. Porch was huge, no screened areas so mosquitoes were a problem. Just take spray. Lay out was confusing at first, each bedroom went to another one. Overall it was enjoyable. Only one issue, roach bugs in the kitchen at night. Needs to be treated. We were only there for a short period so I didnât call to report issue. Just make sure it was resolved. Overall it was a perfect place for a house of that age.
Overall good stay, but there are updates and repairs that need to be done. We will unfortunately not be returning. This is our second year staying in the home and we noticed things that the previous year needed attention had been ignored. On the upside, the pool was completed and very nice and the porch had been redone. The inside needs some maintenance in terms of new paint that is chipping, floor rugs replaced or cleaned, and window panes that need replacing.
Great overall stay. The location is nice and the view from the living room is beautiful. The room with the two beds is a little strange.. not sure itâs supposed to be a bedroom but thankfully we didnât have anyone who needed to sleep in there. House is a charming maze to get from bedroom to bedroom but we were not bothered by it. Everything was clean. The kitchen could use more amenities like actual cutting boards and the stove top definitely need to be replaced but otherwise it was functional and did what it should. Really wish there was a note that the boardwalk from the house to the beach was not access accessible bc you do have to go around the street to get to the beach. Overall great stay we enjoyed it
Fabulous porch with a bite of the ocean in the distance, excellent common space, access to the beach through the dunes. The bedroom layout is unusual, but it worked well for our family of seven adults and two preteens.
Great location on Tybee, you can walk downtown easy. It was very clean. Lots of bedrooms that attach to one another. Doors everywhere, you have to make a flow plan but we made it work and had fun. The house is old, in a fun, funky way not creepy. Great deck. Updated appliances but small kitchen. Iâm giving it 5 stars because we had a great time but they should put a floor plan on listing. If you seek privacy from others this is not your place. Itâs also not on beach, itâs close for sure.
Adult kayakers group of friends.
The house is older and navigating the rooms at first can be tricky, but the porch and location cannot be beat! We enjoyed our stay very much. I would recommend bringing a small fan as the bedrooms do not have ceiling fans. The master does have a window unit. Overall very satisfied with the stay and would book again.
Our family of 9 ages 14-85 had such a wonderful stay here. My favorite part was the AMAZING porch! It is SO big and has beautiful lights around it at night. We played games out there at night and took some great family pictures on the porch too. This very unique home has connecting bedrooms with doors that close if you choose. Two of the rooms have doors that go directly out to the porch which was really nice. If people are sleeping in their rooms, you have the option of going outside on the beautiful porch and walking to your room. Not a big deal. Our walk to the beach was easy. We walked through 2 yards to a street which takes you directly to the 13th street walkway to the beach. Not a problem. The washer/dryer are outside under the house and are both in great condition. Towels dried very quickly. The bathroom under the house is similar to a campground feel. Quite rustic. We didnât use it. There are hooks all over this house inside and out to hang wet towels and clothes. The house was very clean and is quite old and could use a little TLC as far as painting, redoing wood floors, etc. Restaurants, grocery store and ice cream are right there. The pier is within walking distance. We took a lot of walks on the beach to the very end and saw stingray, dolphin, jellyfish, hermit crabs, and starfish. It was really cool. We have a 20 year old son with cerebral palsy. We got an adaptive beach wheelchair down by the pier for free. Itâs on a first come basis and we had no problem getting one for the day. Overall, it was a wonderful vacation that we will cherish forever!
Our group of 8 had a absolutely wonderful time in this spacious home, with plenty of room to spare! We loved the maze-like layout of the rooms, it was quirky & fun. I did some research on the home & found that it was built in 1898 & seems to have a lot of the original work, with some modern touches. The home gives me a nostalgic feeling, even though it was my first stay. It was the perfect place to spend my daughterâs first beach trip. I canât wait to bring her here again as she grows up.
House is not 100 feet from the beach - you need to walk down gravel drive to the main road and over to 13th street for access with a boardwalk. The online description and photos are not accurate. There is an access through the dunes but it is not an easy access and a snake was spotted - Straight line distance to the beach is over 600 feet from house thru the dunes. The original boardwalk next to the house is not maintained and falling apart. In addition, there is no access from the master bedroom to the kitchen/living room - you have to go through other bedrooms and the 4th bathroom is under the house The house does have a nice view and porch. The location is close to retail stores and St Michaelâs church.
Our group of 8, 4 adults and 4 teens, really enjoyed this home. It had everything we needed and we loved the large porch. We would stay here again when visiting Tybee.
Excellent location, loved the house - felt like visiting family with the cozy atmosphere. The kitchen was well-equipped to cook a fantastic Thanksgiving meal. Very clean; comfortable beds.
This was our first time staying in Tybee Island so we were not sure what to expect. It was a fantastic stay, location was within walking distance to the beach as well as the main strip. Look forward to returning soon!
The house was clean and close to everything. The managers of the house checked in with us regularly to make sure our stay was great. Would definitely recommend and hope to plan another stay here.
We had an amazing time at this house! The location was perfect- a short walk to everything (Beach, shops, grocery store, restaurants). The layout is a bit odd, but plenty of space for 5 adults and 4 kids! And you can't beat the view from the gigantic porch!! It really is the perfect beach house!
Went to see Jupiter play in Savannah and while the weather didn't cooperate, we loved to accommodations. Great views of the beach although we couldn't find a direct path to the beach. Walked around the corner. Even then, it wasn't that far. Really loved our stay. Had a blast. PS stay off the dunes
Even though we enjoyed the inside during bad weather, family uniting made it better than an overall disappointing description for my 80 year parents not able to walk 100â to the beach. After calling the property management to tell them I needed a new house do to the person in the office arguing with me and insisting that we would have no issues for my mother and father taking a short easy walk to the beach. The map given to walk to beach was wrong after I told the lady I didnât think it was correct. Again she said over and over it was. It was over 1200â+, not the direction they said which made extremely longer thru the dunes, and to top it off my sons wife and Baby were terrified when we read a sign saying poisonous snakes bed, walk with caution. So there you have it the owners of the house do have a comfortable family coziness, but the property management miss that description and along with a few more and can only say I am glad my mother and father, baby, or yet alone any family member didnât get hurt walking to the beach.
The property worked, but thankfully we had great weather and spent most of our awake time on the beach. The layout is awkward for more than one family to share (it would work better for a single family who needs lots of beds). The bedrooms are ALL connected. To get to the "master" bedroom you have to enter from the porch or go through other rooms to get to it. The 4th bathroom is downstairs so not really useable. The description said it had a screened porch, but I don't think a section of lattice counts as a screened porch. The pictures show a boardwalk, but it is not useable so you have to hike on a path through the dunes (not easy when hauling beach stuff) or walk down to another boardwalk.
