Construction was interrupted by the American Civil War, and finally completed around 1868 by the new owner, John Wilder. In 1913, a previous owner tripped over the second floor banister, fractured his hip, and suffered a concussion, dying three days later. In 1964, a boy chasing pigeons on the roof fell over the edge and impaled himself on the iron fence below.

Lovely place for our visit with family over Thanksgiving week! The location was ideal for walking. It was central to driving to areas around the city. The house was great with a small back patio and balcony!

The house was clean. Check in easy. The corner under cabinet light is out. Left note with hot water kettle that didn’t work. It would be good if salt and pepper were at least provided. Only coffee filters left by someone. My advice is if you have trouble with steep stairs this house isn’t older people friendly as both bedrooms are upstairs. Be aware that parking in front of the house doesn’t mean you will be able to park as someone takes your place when you leave. Apparently parking is at a premium there. Fortunately we had family staying in a residential area that we were able to use and they dropped us off. Street sweeps are once a week and again parking is difficult to find. Public transportation is your best option and just leave car. We enjoyed the historic part but no part of parking is easy. Wish we had known earlier so we could have been prepared.

This property is beautiful and clean. Furniture and beds are comfortable, kitchen is well stocked. The location is perfect. Forsythe Park is right across the street and there's a trolly stop a couple blocks away.

The location was great for what we needed. The cotton reef of the door was a bit much. The personal pictures throughout the house I think was too much. When renting out a space try to keep it neutral. The water pressure was the greatest and we hand to contact to rental company to come and change out the shower heads. We found porcelain dolls in the cabinet which also was a bit creepy. The beds definitely need to be changed out. Me and my other guess backs were hurting and for the amount of money we paid there should have been a Tv in the other bedroom.

Awesome Location

Great location around the corner from Forsyth Park. Enjoyed walking the neighborhood and walking through the many squares down to the riverfront. Also liked how the property had a historic feel to the furnishings. The lockbox to access the property key was a little tricky.

We enjoyed being 1 block from Forsyth Park and the ease to walk to almost all attractions. The home is comfortable and well appointed. The back patio was a nice way to unwind between afternoon outings and evening plans.

Great Location

The property was charming and well maintained. Plenty of towels and a blow dryer/basic toiletries in bathrooms. Kitchen has everything you’d need to make meals in. The location is awesome. You can walk to a Kroger by cutting through Forsyth Park. Would definitely stay there again.

In Love With Savannah!!

We loved our stay here. Every room was decorated beautifully. The flower arrangement on the dining table was such an eye catcher. So gorgeous!! The only complaint would be the bed pillows…. Very hard! Other than that it was perfect!

Charming!

What a charming place to stay in Savannah! Wonderful decor gives a homey feel. The updated kitchen is gorgeous and well supplied; even the dish ware coordinates with the design and color scheme. Having three bathrooms and washer/dryer in the home was very convenient and appreciated. Forsyth Park is literally right around the corner, so we were in walking distance to all the nearby shops, restaurants, and squares. We had a great stay!

GREAT LOCATION!

The townhome was in a great location and had everything on our "required to rent" list. It was walkable to many places on our "must see" list; had access to close, easy and free parking; had private outdoor space; 2 bedrooms (Q,Q); 2 full bathrooms, and even a guest bath adjacent to the downstairs living spaces; the bed linens and bath towels are good quality; the kitchen is equipped for basic cooking and has nice dishes and assortment of drinkware. On the other side- all the interior spaces could use a general fresh up- the rooms are dark and the lighting/lamps did not provide adequate light for reading; the mattresses are soft and the pillows are hard; the living room needs additional seating that is comfortable for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing; the dolls, knick knacks and family pictures clutter the space. This property is a gem in the rough! We loved Savannah and need a few more trips to finish exploring this wonderful city!
