Great place just a short drive from the parkway

Owner had great communication prior to our arrival. Even called on our way down to make us aware of some deliveries scheduled to come during the week. Home is beautifully maintained and spacious. This was a mother daughter trip and we had lots of room. Easily could have accommodated a few others. Liked being away from the main parkway but still close enough that it only took about 10 minutes to get to the Pigeon Forge fun. Only recommendations are a new frying pan and a new clothes iron. Otherwise we had all we needed and everything was in good functioning condition. Would definite recommend staying here.

March Stay

Over all our stay was very good and we would stay again. We were satisfied. What brought our rating down a star was just a few small things. For example the coffee maker did not have a pot to go along with it. The soap dispenser in one of the bathrooms and shower did not work. The master bed had a good mattress, but the frame seemed inadequate. Over all a very good stay. We loved the location and the property. Thank you.

Quiet Location - Property Exactly as Pictures in Listing

The location of this property was perfect. It was a quiet neighborhood setting just outside of town. It was about 7 miles outside of Pigeon Forge so it was close enough to town to go for food and entertainment, but far enough outside town to enjoy the peaceful setting and nature. The beds and couches were very comfortable for relaxing and sleeping. The outside amenities were perfect with the hot tub and seating areas outside in the back yard. I will definitely book this property again for any return trips to Pigeon Forge area.

A place for relaxation.

This was an amazing home. The view from the hot tub was amazing. There are loungers where you can sit and read or even look at the smoky mountains. Both my children loved this house. Had games and ample space for each of them. Will book again!!

Mother, daughter trip

Our primary mission was to visit my aunt in an assisted living facility in Kingport and moms favorite spot on the planet is the GSM. Your home was everything we needed, my mom is handicapped and the step in -showers and limited steps to enter the residence was ideal. Moms trips are becoming harder but your home was comfortable and had everything we needed to prepare meals and relax. Wasn't able to enjoy the patio and firepit because of rain and the late times we returned for the evenings. Checking in and out was a breeze, and the process was simple. We did try to go to Cades Cove and I made the executive decission to try Roaring Fork instead and it did pay off with getting to watch a couple bear cubs playing , without being run off by rangers since there wasn't hundreds of cars idling behind us. Thanks for another opportunity to build memories.

Nice place

We enjoyed our time at the house. It is an older house but the renovations make it a nice house. We enjoyed the piano. We liked that there was space to be together as a family and enough room to separate as well. We would love to come back in the fall or winter and use the wood stove. We truly enjoyed the fire pit and patio. The only downside was the pool that was “closed due to weather” which happened in the morning. The evening was beautiful but the pool was closed for the whole day. That had nothing to do with the house but is a must know if you have kids ready for the pool. The charcoal grill is rough ( still usable) but the owner informed us that it was being replaced. It was nice of them to have charcoal and lighter fluid for us.

Amazing getaway!

We just loved our stay at Sunlight house! It suited our family of 4 perfectly and was simply lovely. We enjoyed the beautiful views from the back patio and s’mores around the fire pit after a soak in the hot tub. So much space and very much like home.

Great little house in Wears Valley

We had a great stay at Glenn’s place. Our kids had a great time watching the enormous tv at the end of the day. The fire pit and outdoor patio were also a big hit. It’s very close to the National Park and away from all the traffic and commotion of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but still close enough to visit those places. Glenn was very responsive and very accommodating. All in all, I definitely think we would consider staying here again if we ever find ourselves back in the area. Thanks again!

Very clean and roomy!! Great location near everything!! Not way up a mountain either which was nice. The hot tub needs the light in it fixed if it has one. The bathroom jetted tub needs a new drain.

The home was comfortable and clean away from the busy Parkway with beautiful views from the base of the mountain. Glenn was easy to work with and an accommodated a last minute request for a date change with no issues. We were central to all the activities we wanted to do. We would definitely stay here again.

Enchanting, clean, sunny cottage with Magnificent Views

The pictures do not do this property justice! The views are breathtaking and left us in awe each morning. The house is immaculate and every inch of the home including the jacuzzi were very clean and refreshing. The first day, I walked around with white socks and they were still clean by the end of the day. The home is filled with windows and the sun makes the home so bright and beautiful throughout the day. The decor and vibe throughout the home is very modern, peaceful, simple, charming and really very beautiful. The owner’s attention to detail and quality is evident throughout. The den with the wood burning stove fireplace and the piano and the bookshelf full of books made the home so cozy. We were pleasantly surprised to see a Christmas tree when we arrived. It is evident the owner remodeled this cottage and decorated with elegant taste and with love. The bedrooms are so pretty each one with walk out patio doors. My favorite part of the home was the bright sunroom with ceiling high windows and magnificent views of the great smoky mountains, the patio and jacuzzi. We took the most beautiful pictures in this room with the smoky mountains and snow covered ground in the background. It was extremely cold during our Christmas stay and it lightly snowed our first night. TN was experiencing uncommon weather during our stay due to the cold storm that spread across 40 states. Temps in TN were -1’-30’ degrees. Yes it was cold but not as cold as it was back home in Wisconsin during our stay where the temps were -40’ degrees with the windchill. The owner was away in Spain but was very responsive and had a maintenance crew to the house within minutes of a pipe freezing and bursting near the outdoor carport/laundry shed. Thankfully it did not affect the inside of this beautiful home. We ventured out into town about 15 minutes away and found The Island and Pigeon Forge which is a must visit if traveling with family and children. There were so many activities and restaurants and shops including Paula Dean’s store and restaurant, Margaritaville (which was closed the day we went due to a pipe freezing and bursting), amusement rides including a Ferris wheel, merry-go-round, bumper cars, a shooting range, and so much more. We will definitely be going back when the temperatures are warmer. This vacation was so relaxing and my family and I made many beautiful memories. I would highly recommend this property over and over. It was one of our best vacations to date!!
