Lovely welcome from the manager upon arrival - friendly and helpful. The general layout and decor of the hotel was tasteful. The courtyard and shared areas were well maintained and clean.
Room was mostly clean but dusty in places, also food stains and squashed bug marks on the walls. I struggled to work out the light switches - the manager and her colleague helped me use them and said they'd pass cleaning comments on/ said the room needed a paint.
In the evening: the accomodation was quiet until 9.30pm. Guests took personal calls on loudspeaker in the courtyard; neighbours were laughing/ screaming/ talking loudly so it was hard to go to sleep - frustrating as I'd read the hotel was relatively quiet! The bed was hard to sleep on and not comfortable.
Checkout was sub par. The desk was meant to open at 8am but staff were late in, so I took my bags down to the car. When I returned, she had arrived but was rushed helping a tradie (still had her backpack and hoodie on). She told me to leave the key on the desk and carried on with the traide. I asked if she wanted to know the room/ my name and she said she would look later. She was not knowledgeable when asked about the local area/ reccomendations, she looked at me like I was stupid for asking - a stark contrast to my welcome the previous day, which was a shame, particularly as the manager and her colleague were kind and attentive.
Re location, the positioning is great. Parking was easy; shops 15 min walk/ beach 30 mins.
