We spent the first week of October at Igloo Alley. We were really pleased with the location; it is only a 10 minute walk to all the shops and restaurants of Tahoe City. In addition, it backs up to the Tahoe City Golf Course and you have a small area of trees that open up to provide a view of the Lake. The backyard is huge with a two large decks, plenty of chairs and tables to enjoy being outdoors. Our dog loved the property with all the trees and green grass. There was a neighborhood black and white dog which like to come around and relieve itself in the yard, which was a bit upsetting to our dog, but otherwise she loved all the birds and squirrels running about.
The house itself is very comfortable and quaint. It has plenty of seating in the living room and dining room so that everyone can hang out together. The kitchen was well-equipped with two coffee pots (Mr. Coffee and Keurig), as well as an electric tea kettle. The stove, oven and microwave worked great.
The beds that we used were all very comfortable and the bathrooms were clean and well-lit.
This would be a great location for a larger family to stay and feel comfortable together, but also have plenty of privacy as well.
There is a cemetery two-doors down, which is very fascinating to inspect. It appears that the original owners are buried there, nearest to the golf course with some other family members. They must have been very involved with the community before their passing.
I would definitely recommend this very nice home to anyone interested in being away from the hustle and bustle of a resort, but close enough to town to enjoy all the amenities it has to offer.
