We had a very frustrating experience with our stay, primarily due to the negligence of the property manager, Tahoe Getaways. When we arrived on Friday afternoon, we found that a bear had broken into the house and a sheet of plywood had been hastily screwed in over the window, leaving a large air gap. We called and the property manager, who somehow seemed to have no notes or knowledge about the condition, and they sent someone out to seal the window. However, we later realized that the room was unsafe (possibly illegal) to occupy because it would be impossible to escape out of the window in case of emergency. We felt we had no other option but to stay and someone slept in the living room. The refrigerator was also broken and a second fridge was placed in the dining room, which was inconvenient. When I requested a partial refund, they said I would be required to sign a settlement agreement (which would not allow me to leave this review) that I wasn't comfortable with for a 10% refund. They also wanted to charge us for early check in and late check out, even though no one was was staying in the cabin before or after us. They were a bit more flexible about this though. Aside from these issues, the house is dated, though comfortable. The upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms are very small.
