Wildlife & Nature
Expect to see mule deer, javelinas, coyotes, rabbits, lizards, and diverse bird species. Less common but possible sightings include black bears, mountain lions, bobcats, and desert bighorn sheep. While most wildlife avoids human contact, be mindful of your surroundings, especially with snakes.

Approved pets are allowed but they must be listed on your reservation. There is a $500 fee for unapproved pets at the home.

You have access to the property. Feel free to explore but please do not climb rocks.

House rules

Make sure the guest count is accurate when you book. No extra people on the property beyond the booked number without prior permission. Anyone on the property must be on the reservation.
Groups larger than 8 need prior approval. An extra-guest fee may apply past 8 people (water, trash, laundry, wear and tear, housekeeping). Message us before you book a larger group.
Small events and commercial photography only with prior approval.

Pets

Dogs only. No cats.
$200 pet fee per dog. The dog must be on the reservation at booking and show on the confirm-and-pay screen.
Weight limit is 10 lbs. Larger dogs scratch the hardwood; floor refinishing is billed at $2,500.
Dogs are not allowed on bedding or furniture.
Pets may not be left unattended in the house unless crated.
You will be billed for pet damage.

Safety and the land

Guests assume all risk while hiking and exploring the property.
Use caution walking the property, especially at night. Watch for rocks, cactus, and animals (including snakes).
Guests, children, and pets must stay at least 15 feet from the edge of any cliff, arroyo, crevasse, overhang, or drop-off.
No rock climbing.
Do not collect rocks, plants, firewood, or kindling from the property.
The road is compacted dirt with a steep incline. 4WD or high clearance is recommended if it rains.

Fires and outdoor use

Bring your own firewood.
Small fires only, and only in the fire pit.
Smoking and vaping outside only.
Sound carries in the desert. Keep music and voices reasonable.
This area is under a dark-sky ordinance. Use as little light as possible after dark.

The house

The house is on a septic system. Be careful what you flush.
Some drinking water is provided. Bring extra if you want more than we stock.
Unsoiled food may be left behind.
No confetti. Confetti cleanup is $100.
Late checkout may be available for $50 per hour if arranged in advance. Late checkout without approval may be billed as another night if it delays housekeeping.
