Good place for a stopover nice part of the country handy for exmoor and the quantocks 2 or 3 nights maybe Walking distance of town centre Safe parking Good breakfast bar ok but shuts early didnt have an evening meal Would staybthere again

My room was quiet and comfortable. I appreciated that a bath was available, many modern hotels have done away with them. The only disturbance was from noisy door closing, but most hotels get that wrong

My only complaint is the limited menu which I understand it was in place because of the holiday period, but there wasn’t any sandwiches. Not wanting a hot meal as we were going out for dinner , and I had a long journey to get here. Karen one of the Reception staff was very apologetic and did try to get the kitchen staff to do me a sandwich, however all she could persuade them to do was a bowl of chips! There was also another couple that wanted just a sandwich snack.

The hotel is perfectly satisfactory. Big, well equipped rooms. The staff were very friendly. Two points reported: There was a pump running non stop during our stay, which disturbed the night, and there was no hot water the following morning. But we received a complimentary breakfast in lieu when we reported this to reception in the morning, which was fine.

The property needs updating as it is looking sad. All carpets and furniture need replacing. The staff are great , friendly and helpful. The menu is small but the food is good and well presented and very reasonable priced. The buffet breakfast is excellent value. If you don't have much money to spend this is ideal.

The view from the bedroom and location to town were great.The staff were a motley lot and could have had a stronger customer service. The grounds were filthy, rubbish bins not emptied for days. No toilet roll holders in the main Ladies toilets downstairs. One lovely young waitress called Carmen she should have been running the place
