Night at the museum! Considering the different aspects about the Space Castle I have to say it was quite unique. The exterior was a clever transformation of a utility building designed to service automobiles and trucks into a livable, comfortable and secure space. Building and conversion elements seemed to be done with care, foresight and good construction. The fenced rear area is meant for private reflection away from prying eyes. The interior contained a plethora of art, sculptures, and maze-like spaces that invited exploration. It was easy to spend much time viewing and contemplating the many Indo-Asian and Aztec-Mayan images and bas reliefs. There retro furnishing was delightful. There are art pieces yet to be hung and a little refinement to be done but there was more there for us to see than we had time for. Mitzi was great to work with and answered all our questions and the location allowed us to walk to all the places we come to T or C to visit. In time we will return for another stay at the Space Castle.

The hosts were so friendly and welcoming, let us in and gave us a tour of the house. (You will want it!) The three of us were blown away by the art and how it was incorporated into every aspect of the house. It was absolutely alive. We loved the well appointed kitchen!! My friend used the backyard tub and we enjoyed sitting in the warm sun. There were games and cards and we had so much fun. The house was warm and comfortable. I highly recommend it.

Artsy oasis/perfect location! We loved our stay here and will definitely be back. Very close to Elephant Butte and downtown. First off, the home is just…WOW! Unique and filled with lovely art everywhere, meditation room, and fenced in private backyard. Misty was super friendly and made check-in a breeze. If you’re looking for a fun and relaxing stay in TorC, look no further, 10/10 recommend!

We had a great stay at Space Castle, which is very aptly named. The home had everything we needed for a comfortable stay We spent most of our time relaxing in the mid-century modern family room, or in the back patio area, though there are many spaces to enjoy.. Outside, a lovely riverside park with a farmer's market, close to favorite hot springs and town center. The location was ideal. However, the factor that really sets Space Castle apart is the incredible collection of shamanic art work created by artist/owner JQ - there are many powerful pieces in this home and each is a potential visionquest. It was difficult to decide if my favorites were the canvases or the woodcarvings. Communication with the hosts was clear and check-in was simple. I'd stay again.

Great place to creatively focus and go deep.

Stayed for a week and recorded tracks for our next Finegan Finch album. We had a completely inspiring time and came up with some wild music. What a great place to focus and go deep into the creativity. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for creating such a unique, inspiring place for us to explore and soar. LOVE the Space Castle

We had the most AMAZING time at the Space Castle. I would highly recommend staying in this very unique and well done home. You can easily walk to everything in town and you have everything that you need. When we return to TorC, we will definitely plan to return.

Fun and Interesting

While we did not spend a great deal of time inside because we were always out and about the town, our downtime inside was fun, relaxing and comfortable. We enjoyed going from room to room and discovering new pieces of art all around including the interesting furniture and decorations. The bed was comfortable, the water pressure was great and hot water was just right. Mitzi was very nice and friendly and told us about some fun things we might try around town. It was very clean, had an ample towel supply and everything you would need if you needed to cook in the kitchen. Totally recommend- not your regular run of mill hotel stay - so much more fun!!!

Peace & quiet!

Loved the unsuspecting external structure in contrast with the sophisticated, maximalist indoors. Very quiet despite being on a main street, extremely clean, communicative hosts and property manager, and so much to look at!

great unique place

we had a very enjoyable stay. everything in town was walking distance from the rental. Viewing the art with the correct lightning made the experience much better. the outside soaking tub was great.

An Exceptional Experience

It was our privilege to live in this remarkable house for a month, surrounded by outstanding art. The house is comfortable with every amenity, but so much more. If we stayed many months we wouldn’t have had time to observe and appreciate the bold, unique paintings, carvings, etc. the owners have made and filled this elegantly made-over service station with. The house is close to all the mineral baths, restaurants, shops and galleries T or C has to offer. The kitchen was good for cooking holiday dinners. The fenced backyard is private and another artsy place to hang out. Much of the furniture is retro. Fun and attractive but functional. Although nights were cold, we were warm inside. And how often do you find a meditation room ready for you inside a vacation rental? Many thanks to the owners for, first, creating this unbelievably exciting abode and, secondly, for allowing visitors to dwell within their marvelous world.

Interesting art and great location!

An artistic and comfortable home at the edge of town. The home is filled with the colorful and interesting paintings and carvings of one artist. Walk to galleries and shops. Well-equipped kitchen and comfortable king bed. Some street noise from passing vehicles but quiet at night.

Exceded our expectations in every way.

I spent hours searching for the ideal VRBO for our semi annual weekend getaway with friends. My Grandfather was an artist that filled our homes with art, so I appreciated the immersiveness of the property. We all noted how much bigger it felt inside and how stepping outside again immediately felt different. The backyard was also big and private. Soaking in the tub was magical too. We also all loved lying down and looking up at the tumbleweed. The town was lovely, steps away and it being an art walk Saturday, so much fun. This town is special, not only because of the healing water, but mainly because the people here are so friendly and inviting. We plan on coming back again. Thank you!
