Thanks for you thoughtful input during a vey difficult time for us. Without having to explain the full situation i just wanted to clarify that we at any point in time had never had access to your payment. The payment was made through Expedia and it was your responsibility to recover your funds from them as we never seen or withheld any payment you made and therefore could do nothing to have helped with that situation. We had always had a very viagble, popular and exceptional business as we currently have again. It was just unfortunate that the situation had turned out the way it did. You are correct to mention that no one is there any longer as that location is permanently closed however guests are welcome to join us in West Vancouver in our new venture.

MariaIm so sorry you did not have a great experience with us however the door situation was simply a mechanical issue and one I would think would knock on the door in the event the door bell wasn't working as there was no chime to it at the time. I do apologise for my dresscode upon your arrival as I was doing maintenance work such as painting, hence my paint covered shirt, but I did explain and apologise for what I was wearing at the time which I though you understood. However, when you reported the coffee machine I was up quickly to fix it and explained that a reset was in need, which no one would have known and as I said that night that while you were out for dinner I had done some minor touch paint touch-ups in the bathroom that would only take an hour or so to dry, It was more me just making your aware as I was trying to complete a few things while you were out so not to inconvenience you while you were there. All in all the bathroom lock was put in as per guest requests for a locked bathroom so personal valuables could be kept safely, not sure how difficult 1234# could get any easier of a passcode to set. We value your input and will do what we can to improve on these issues. Thanks for your review however a 2 out of 5 is simply not an accurate.or a fair account of the service you received from us

Hi Simmy, We are a little confused with the score of your rating as it does not reflect the comments you provided. We were both happy that you had decided to stay at our B&B and in doing so wanted to ensure that your first time at a B&B was both positive and memorable.Based on your feedback both during your stay and the comment you provided certainly reflects our mission. In response to your comments which are outrageously incorrect and off offbase, the following will state the actual facts of your stay/1. Yes this is a house and more specifically a Bed & Breakfast of which you were aware of when you checked in. We also upgraded your room from the standard Queen Room to our King Master Suite which was a 350 comp.2. The outside of our Property was decorated for Christmas with multiple lights at the entrance and in the gardens. Not sure where you live but there was no threat of anyone jumping out for any reason unless Santa was still in town, We are also located in a very affluent neighborhood which is very secure and safe.3 You arrived at 5:42 pm which also does not warrant the remark of a crazy person coming out. Out from where?4, You are correct that there is no signage as we do not want random people showing up at the door looking for accommodations. This is a security measure.5. The Glass Door you are referring to was locked and temp fixed shut as we are waiting for a part to complete a maintenance issue. We explained very thoroughly not to open the door which you did not listen. The door is also a European design that has 2 functions, an actual door that swings inward or a window that comes forward allowing a small amount of air to circulate. The door was never going to fall on you,6. Unfortunately there was a complete misunderstanding of when the hot and cold breakfast buffet would be available, We had stated 8 am and were running a bit behind. The cause for not responding to your calls or was mostly due to getting ready for the day and did not hear you.. Not once did we ever say that our guests pick through the refrigerator for food items that may contain leftovers from our own meals, not our guests. Our meal service is made fresh daily and if you had stayed for an hour you would have had the meal we take pride in serving, There was never any cause to leave and if our property is as bad as you make it out to be, you did not complain when we upgraded your room, There were also other guests staying that night as well and there were not any complaints whatsoever.If we were a scam then you would have known before you set one step through the front door. Here is a link to our Facebook page which has pictures of the house as you arrived. Tell me how horrible your 1 night was!.The obvious issue is that there was a language barrier of which you decided to check out without even allowing us the opportunity to resolve it. WE had up to the point of your leaving provided a room upgrade that was equivalent to 350 of which you never even acknowledged and you also had made late reservations the day you arrived which were nonrefundable. That was your choice. Breakfast is also complimentary which means you did not pay for this service and therefore have no reason to refund your booking.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. However not sure what it was then that you were not entirely happy with as you rated us an 8 out of 10. Those 2 points are so vital to our score yet you chose not to comment on that

Since opening, we have had not one issue with the bathroom being used by other guests as they all have got their own. Our instructions were to keep the door closed and we would guarantee the safety of your toiletries, etc. Additionally, we have no control over how the booking sites advertise the bathrooms - our input is whether it is private or shared and the location of the bath - I'm not sure how this would affect our performance appraisal and receiving a 3/5 when the rest of your stay was flawless - as for your concern we have installed a new key coded lock on that door to that it is now always locked externally.
