Exactly what you need to explore this amazing city! Great location, modern decor, sparse yet functional, comfy bed and couch. Strong showerhead, great view, friendly building. Starbucks and liquor store across the street, cool dishes, good AC, strong ceiling fan, plenty of bedding linens, good washer/dryer.Only issues were the bathroom exhaust fan is ready for a proper burial, the sink garbage disposal wouldnt work so it plugged up (maybe a faulty switch?) and only one access fob so be prepared to time your excursions accordingly.
Excellent base for exploring Vancouver. Having sitting, eating and cooking area, Mark's appartment is much more 'livable' than a hotel if you are around for a few days. Perfect location for exploring Vancouver via its excellent public transport system and for nipping out to enjoy the local nightlife. Mark's instructions made getting in and out very easy. Strongly recommended.
Perfect for a quick visit but some small drawbacks to be aware of
Overall good experience. Owner was responsive. Works as a small central base of operations in the city. Cleanliness wasn't bad for a rental property. City noise was more than we expected (screaming seagulls, neighbors, traffic/alarms) and the place was too bright to sleep well for us. It was also very hot when we were there and the building is very warm. The small DIY AC unit was loud to have running constantly to make it a comfortable temperature but high temps are not a common occurance...we were just unlucky. Note that this entire building is 80% rental properties so you won't get a lot of help from others you run across in the building. Onsite parking is hidden in an alley behind the building, which was not obvious to us who are less experienced with a major downtown residence. Plan to find a temporary parking space (challenging in such a busy part of the city), retrieve the fob and then park since access to the garage is restricted. The assigned spot is not just normal downtown small but specifically compact. A midsize car will fit but if you aren't good with tight spaces, it could be a 2 person parking job (parking is extra $$). We had a negative experience because we were not warned about a planned power outage for one night (leaving the unit without AC and uncomfortably warm) and the need to find alternate parking due to the carpark being repainted, but these are not normal events. The owner was notified of these well in advance and could have shared them but did not
The highlight of this property is the great location in the heart of downtown Vancouver. My friend and I were able to walk to almost everywhere we wanted to go, including to BC Place for a concert. With that, however, comes the noise of a big city, but it really wasnât bad with the exception of a Saturday night. The entire wall looking out over downtown is windows, with a tiny deck. I can sleep through just about anything but that morning sun might bother some - some black out shades would help.
Everything worked fine and the little kitchen was sufficiently stocked (we didnât do any real cooking). There is no central AC in the apartment but the portable unit was quiet enough and kept the place cool. However, it appears to be a DIY install and the duct tape used to keep the outside AC hose in place came loose. Would recommend getting someone in there to do a more professional repair job.
The apt was clean - expect for a stinky shower curtain that needed to go in the wash, and the ceiling fan which has a very thick layer of dust on top (I know itâd be a bear to clean as the ceiling is very high, but it was pretty gross to look at when laying in bed up in the loft).
We paid extra for parking in the building basement but that was a bit tricky. The doorman had to help me find the somewhat hidden entrance, and parking spot is for compact cars so it was a tight squeeze for our mid-sized car- would definitely Not work for a large vehicle.
Owner was very responsive
Unit was clean and very bright with all the natural lighting, with the option to lower down shades for privacy. Places we wanted to go to were very nearby. Nero waffles was just at the corner. You can walk to Yaletown and take the bus port to Granville. Parking is extra, but a very nice option to have if you want to explore outside of downtown. Host was very welcoming and her joy was infectious. The only improvements I can see are some in the bathroom to tightly screw down the toilet paper holder and to maybe remove the curtains and make it entirely sliding glass doors.
The apartment was in a perfect location. Unfortunately, it could do with a thorough cleaning. We were unable to use the balcony. I think everything just looked tired. Like the owner has lost interest in the care of the place. Location is important, but, its not everything.
It was a great location. Mark was available by phone and quick to deal with concerns. We would stay again and recommend to our friends. Thanks for an enjoyable stay!
Great location downtown, good city view. Airy, clean and quiet executive space. The bed and sofa bed were comfortable. The kitchen was well supplied with basic needs. The on-site parking is reasonably priced for extra cost. The washer/ dryer is a little noisy so you wonât put it on when youâll sleep.
A mini mart (including Mexican and Persian products) is downstairs and a small supermarket is across the street. Easy walking, public transport and Uber leave cation. Heirs Pears restaurant is on the corner and Nuba Yaletown Lebanese restaurant is a few blocks away. Plus lots of restaurants and pubs.
I would love to stay here again.
The place was exactly as promoted and perfect for what we needed for the long weekend. Marc was very communicative and easy to reach through the app. The place was clean and in a great location. A cherry on top was the newly installed AC as well. Would stay there again. Thanks!
This loft was a perfect place to stay on our proper visit to Vancouver. The apartment is located just one block over from the lively Granville street and is not a far walk from the waterfront. This place was in a perfect spot for anyone who desires exploring the city. The place was clean and the cleaning staff upon checkout was beyond kind. Overall, I would book here again
Very good rental. Only issue was getting in. We had a code to get in the building, but needed the fob to access the elevator. Fob was in the apartment. Luckily someone got off the elevator while we were waiting in the lobby and we were able to get to the apartment, but not a very good system.
Expect a little delay the first time you get into the apartment. Getting in the building is easy, but a n electronic Key is needed to use the elevator. As long as there are others using the elevator at the time you check in, it's not a big deal. It was a beautiful apartment, the night time views are beautiful! We would stay again!
Mark was great with communicating with me. Had a bit of a time finding the location due to Google, NOT their information. It was a wonderful spot for me during a local conference.
