À propos de cet hébergement

Chalet en rondins artisanal sur 40 acres boisés | Près Boyne & Gaylord | 6 couchages

  • Wake up to nothing but trees. This handcrafted log cabin sits alone on 40 private wooded acres, with a big deck, a fire pit, a pellet stove, and log beams soaring over the great room. A private main-floor bedroom and an open loft with two queens sleep six. About 15 minutes to Boyne Mountain and Gaylord, it's a quiet base for skiing, golf, trails and elk country, and a real place to unplug.

Forester's Cabin is managed by Haze Retreats. Check-in is contactless, and we're reachable by message or phone throughout your stay, with local in-person support when needed.

You're tucked into the hills between Boyne and Gaylord, surrounded by forest with no neighbors in sight. About 15 minutes to Boyne Mountain and downtown Gaylord, about 30 minutes to the Pigeon River Country State Forest and its free-roaming elk herd, and about 40 minutes to Petoskey and Lake Michigan. Golf, ski hills, snowmobile trails and inland lakes are all a short drive.

The cabin is yours, and you are welcome to walk all 40 acres and the easement road. Check-in is self-service with a keypad smart lock on the side door, and a digital guidebook with directions and house details arrives before your stay. Park right at the cabin. The heated garage on site is not part of the rental.

The cabin was built by hand, and it shows: full-log walls, exposed beams, and an open great room where the kitchen, dining table and living area share one warm space. Forced-air heat keeps it warm, the pellet stove makes it cozy, and sliding doors open straight onto the deck.

    - Main-floor bedroom: full bed, dresser, window onto the woods
    - Loft bedroom: two queen beds in an open loft overlooking the great room (no door), with a ceiling fan, rocking chair and a streaming smart TV
    - Bathroom: full bath with tub/shower and a granite vanity; washer and dryer are in the bathroom
    - Kitchen: full-size range, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker, with a dining table for four
    - Living room: leather sectional facing the pellet stove
    - Outside: a big deck with two seating areas looking across the clearing and into the forest, plus a side porch entrance and a fire pit for evenings under the stars
    - Fast fiber WiFi throughout

A vehicle is required. The cabin is reached by a private dirt drive through the woods. It's plowed in winter, but we recommend AWD or 4WD from December through March. Nearest airports: Pellston (PLN) about 45 minutes, Traverse City (TVC) about 1 hour 20 minutes.

No pets. No parties or events. The primary guest must be 23 or older. Maximum 6 guests. You are welcome to walk all 40 acres and the easement road. ORVs, dirt bikes and quads: you may ride them to and from the property, but only on the main easement road in front of the cabin. No riding anywhere else on the 40 acres. Ride at your own risk. Snowmobiles: stay on marked trails only. No hill climbs. Signs are posted for both. A $250 fine applies to any violation of the ORV or snowmobile rules. Campfires in the fire pit only. No air conditioning; the cabin stays cool under the trees, and windows and a ceiling fan keep air moving. Heat is forced air, plus a pellet stove for cozy nights. The loft is open to the great room below and has no door.
