I stayed for 10 days in the Premium Suite, the most expensive room category. I booked it specifically because my son works U.S. hours, and the advertised two-room, two-bed layout would have allowed me to sleep at night.
The Expedia listing stated the suite included a king bed and a sofa bed. However, upon arrival, I found there was only one bed despite having two rooms. When I raised this with the front desk, they said the suite always has only one bed and blamed me for booking through Expedia, claiming Expedia’s description was wrong and that they lose money on people like me with commissions.
There was also a foul smell in the room, like a dead rat. After I complained, we were moved to another suite, but it again had only one bed. No apology or meaningful solution was offered, and staff continued to insist the issue was entirely my fault.
At checkout, the only compensation offered was a complimentary lunch, which I guess makes up for ten days of inconvenience or an estimated $800 loss (50% of cost).
Other issues:
* Mosquitoes: This was a daily problem. We woke up with mosquito bites and occasionally blood stains on the sheets.
* Excessive restrictions: Outside food(even a bag of KFC food) required signing a release form; outside alcohol that I brought as a gift from US was questioned at security; photography with a camera (not a phone) was prohibited without clear explanation.
* Room condition: Faucets were grimy, dirty, and rusty as if no one cleaned them in years.
